Predator2 mask Journey FINISHED.

More pigment worked great

oh well im happy with one seem i guess.

Lee, I envy your progess in suit making.

Ugh.

PS> Where did you get your sculpting armature from? Monster Makers? I'm trying to find one but $60 for a piece of polyfoam is a killer!

Colin i use these, i have 2 with slightly different shaped bases. I cut off the ears and nose then fibreglass over the holes. let me know if you want a pic and ill take a quick one

thanks guys, i defo have the colour thing down now, my very 1st dred was uber uber soft, the ones since have been slightly stiffer ( not alot just enough for me to notice ) so im just trying to figure out how i made the 1st softer, as id prefer them all that way hehe.

Thanks Lee! I think I might actually sculpt a pred mask. o_O

And that sounds good. Can't wait to see your P2 with a new hair-do.

going to take a while with one mould lol. But im not going to make multimoulds until i get a idea of mould lifespan.

i was hoping for more than that lol.

decent silicone isnt cheap here, nor is the foam for that matter. not that im fussed as long as i get P2's dreads done

Lee you tricky devil you!
I think pretty soon you're going to be the one predstop store in the U.K.
congrats on the dreads
keep on amazing us..

wow man i was lucky enough to go back a couple pages and see that incredible P2 mask, thats impressive bro! nice work on the dreads too man that things gonna ROCK when it's all together!

Nice work Lee, dreads look good! The silicone (I'm guessing it's a silicone mold?) should last about 2 sets of dreads before it starts to lose its nonstick properties. You can prolong that with release agents of course.

Also as far as soft/stiffer dreads, it was probably the mix ration you used on the foam. On both the foams I've tried, more Part A to the mix has resulted in a softer, more flexible foam. I recommend you experiment with it. I measure everything out with a scale too. Even the foam that says to measure by volume...much better to do it by weight.

This thread has both inspired me and scared the S*%t out of me lol.I really want to tackle a Pred sculpt soon, the only question is which one lol.I cant believe how insane this looks,my jaw literally dropped when I saw the finished piece, truly a piece of art!
Take care,Hector

Paul,

Thanks for the tip, id figured that i may have got the mixture slightly heavy one way or another, i was busy trying to calculate weights with the pigment added etc. Ill give it a go as soon as im fully awake

Alieneater, try sculpting
one of the reasons i post these kinds of threds is to try show people that if i can do it, so can anyone else with alittle patience..... ok stubborness just do not give in

thanks again guys, i have visitors coming today for the weekend, but i should be able to box him off by the start of December
