This is a prop I've had on my wish list for years now. I really wanted an MR version but the prices are way too high. Anyway, I bought this in the junkyard as a kit a while back. Really it was just the body and hinge without the inlay framework. So I cut and clued each piece of very thin styrene to the body, mounted the front latch, rear ring, found some nice leather for the inside of the lid, and made the brass piece that fits over the dial. It was kind of a pain to make the brass piece but was worth the work in the end. The only thing I haven't done yet is etch numbers in the brass.
Then the fun part was weathering! I had a blast doing that! Anyway, here are the pics!
