post your spidey pics

Finally got the photo files transferred! They're kind of blurry, but I think you can tell why I like them. Proper full length and proper spidey pose.

You, sir, are practically torn straight from the comics themselves. Everything is SPOT ON!! The suit, the color, the shading, the lenses, your build, everything is perfect.

Bravo! Between you, CWillis13, El Fett and McCL34N (apologies if I spelled it wrong) you guys are rock-stars. Tell me your secrets!!

@Lunaman, great suit and lenses. Btw, if you want to achieve the proper ultimate Spidey suit, go check Goosebot lenses and try to find the Back Spider of that suit.

Thanks! Yea, I've seen Goosebot's more accurate rounded lenses, but the material he used is too thick for my tastes and these ones are prettier to my eye. I also wanted the lens shape to match well between this and my symbiote suit, and in the USM comics the black suit has more traditionally shaped eyes.

My suit already has the correct back spider. :)

Hahaha, THANK YOU! That's very kind. Still need to finish the feet, but everything else is where I want it, so I'm really glad other people like it too.

Aw, shucks, wow. I got no secrets to share, just took advantage of the many talented craftspeople on this forum. Folks that design print files and fabricate eyes and airbrush and sew, those are the real rockstars. :)

Check out these pics I took today guys:

Nice shots, brother! You've really got the moves.

Thanks again Lunaman! You have some good poses yourself bro

You're welcome, and thanks! Don't have the outdoor feet or space for acrobatics, but I at least try for the right posture when wandering out of bathrooms and clambering up on furniture. :rolleyes:D

Some pics of me and mynewborn in her special baby grow :D

Hey Lunaman, I bought the same set of lenses and the same pattern, funny enough.
Any tips on curving/attaching the lenses to the frames, then the frames costume?

Spectacular costume, by the way. This is honestly the best one I've seen in a while!

Awesome, thanks! I knew I wouldn't be the only one with an orhadar print for long, it's a pretty incredible design.

Best way would be to use a heat gun and mould the frames to a face shell when they become pliable. I didn't have a heat gun, so I used a low flame over my gas stovetop to warm them. I used a splatter screen like a saute pan, good side of the eye up, for about twenty seconds for one frame. Then I moulded the frame to an AZSpidey face shell (though I'm not actually wearing the faceshell in any of the photos). Repeat for the other frames. Luckily nothing caught on fire, using as low.heat as possible and checking the softness in increments.

*EDIT* Just caught your query about curving and attaching the actual lenses to the frame. The lenses are a flexible plastic film, they don't need any help curving. I just put them in place and marked how much they overlap the inside edge, then ran a bit of glue along the inside of the marked area and pressed the lenses back on. It's very straightforward. This was done (of course) after the frames had been curved to shape and cooled.

To attach the completed eyes to the mask I used gel-type Superglue with a precision applicator. Made a crude dummy of my head, marked out the intended placement of the eyes with a symmetrical paper pattern that I taped to the lycra to guide me, put the faceshell on the dummy and padded the eye area with a thin layer of foam, put the mask on the dummy head with faceshell, lined up the eyeholes and the paper pattern, prayed, ran glue around the entire edge of the frame except for a short section at the bottom front edge for ventilation, then pressed the frame into place with a firm enough hand than the foam underneath yielded slightly and the frame was in complete contact with the lycra all the way around. Held it there until my paranoia decreased, then did the process with the other frame and the other mask.

Maybe I should make a build thread.

@Lunaman, like i've said before, your suit is a chez d'oeuvre, as for the lenses, they looks awesometastic; btw, when ya gonna do the TASM2 suit ?? since it sounds a lil easy to make & that you already have the lenses. as for the USM back spider, well that looks good, but, personally, i would have prefered using the back spider from the bagley & lafuente version, since its both great looking & accurate. Anyway, Great Job Dude !! :D & another point, keep the sans faceshell route, that suits you so well.

Thanks very much! Yea, I know the legs aren't closed and arched like the exact version in that run, but I don't mind the difference, as long as it's not the long-legged movie type. The front spider is also a bit different and more elaborate, but both are the right size and shape to be immediately reminiscent of the comics, and that's what I wanted.

No current plans for a TASM2 suit as I don't have funds after buying two Spidey suits back to back! Maybe a bit later, when there are better references and TJack can make slightly more accurate frames (these ones are a bit bigger and swoopier than the latest official stills from Sony, which I love for these suits but would need to tweak for a replica)
I also am not usually the type of person to buy suits or props from movies I haven't seen. I know orhadar's working on a file of the new suit, and since I now know that his patterns work well on my frame, it is tempting... Hmmm..

Also, thanks regarding the lack of faceshell comment. I might actually sell my faceshell soon, as I don't really use it. It looks great, very much like the original 3 films, but my own bone structure seems to fit my frame slightly better. I don't even think I have pictures using the shell.

think you should sort out the new pattern on tasm2 your work is very nice and dont think you require face shell looks sound to me keep up the good work

Well thank you! I can't take credit for any of the work, though, it was orhadar, trophywife, and TJack that were responsible for the creation of the suit. I just attached the eyes and modeled it. :rolleyes :lol

Maybe I'll get a new movie suit eventually.

Question tor fellow spider's I had my suit printed at citrus rain but im not happy with my gloves or my mask so I have a file to match the suit I asked citrus how much it was to print them but it's nearly £100 just for the mask and gloves I imagine fabric on demand is cheaper but they most likely use different lycra do you think it will be noticeable printing different parts using another company?
