post your spidey pics

WELL thank you for that huge compliment!!! Did we talk at all? Now i feel bad that i let a good fan get away. Youre the first to point out i have no web shooters, and im glad you did. Id rather have an RPF member remind me i need to buy some post haste! It took me 2 months of pure labor to get that suit finished. And im making another one due to it being too tight.

No problem! We didn't talk because the costume I was in wouldve been too much of a hassle to take off to talk. I definitely recommend markpoon's shooters. I had a pair before I had to sell them for financial reasons. They are AMAZING.

I'm going to shoot you a PM.

Yea, and you can see in the photo that you still haven't pulled the mask down far enough, the little point that all the webs radiate outward from should sit directly between the eyes. Refer to my photo or the first several images in this thread to see what I mean as far as Web placement. You have to do this little procedure where you grab the forehead with one hand and pinch the near the chin with the other and scoot the mask down an inch at a time while tilting your head back a bit. It looks silly, but it works, and it's easier once you've cut the eye holes and are no longer blind. The mask will fit and look much better.

Yep, just measure the distance between your pupils and then mark points on either side of the center Web point and cut small "pilot holes" to see through. Once you check fit and placement you can cut them a little bigger, like the holes in a Zorro mask. You want them big enough that you can see clearly, but small enough that they don't come near the edges where the frames sit. Err on the small side, because you can always trim them bigger later, but you can't replace lycra you've cut away.
If you want, it might be a good idea to start a build thread for your Fettster print project, so you can share progress photos, ask questions and get feedback all in one place. It'll take a lot of work to finish, but it already looks amazing, and you have excellent physical shape for that version of Spidey. That suit is gonna really wow people.

Thank you for the help. I'll make a build thread. Don't wanna hijack this one :)

I know ive posted enough photos already, but i was just linked to this one and if there was EVER a pic to showcase my suit i think i just found it.

That is too badass for words.

AW YEAHHH! thanks again for the compliments.

I have a question for any other ASM suiters. When you sew the zipper that rests under the red belt, do you just add a half inch of slack to let the fabric fold over the zipper?

Haha, no problem, brother. Seriously, you look like you're emerging victorious from a sea of lesser spider-men as the one true Peter Parker. It's awesome.

Can't answer personally since I'm not an ASMer, but I think a lot of folks are just installing an invisible zipper below the belt junction and not using the belt overlap. Maybe ask trophywife, she's put together all kind of versions of that suit, so she'd probably know how to make the accurate overlap.

Im glad you like it guys!!! to answer you Lunaman I was just informed by MLC34N that he will share with everyone hi-def shots of his newest suit for reference :D

In my version 2 for amazing spider-man trophy wife and I talked about doing a 3 zipper under the belt flap. I was planning on doing it on the other suit I had before I sold it. Talk to her, if anyone knows how to put one on its her. Also redtogusa, he used the method on his suit and it was breathtaking.

I think the one infernal detail in the sewing process is completely hiding the two side zippers. I get the feeling the lycra was glued down to the zipper itself. it literally is just a crease in the set photos!

the zipper has a small amount of excess fabric around the seams i imagine my suit looks invisible until i full stretch it so if you go a size bigger it should help hid it completley :)

to anyone who has made an ASM suit my shoes look perfect but the sides wont stick i have been suggested several glues but all te glues are like £10 for a big tube i only need a little bit shoe goo worked wonders on the bottom not so much on the top any ideas and a link to a UK shop would be much appreciated getting some pro shots of my suit next week Markpoon shooters attached and all :)

Some teasers of my new ultimate spider-man suit, utilizing odhadar's file. Getting the eyes ready today...

This shouldn't be a big problem if you use invisible zippers.
