Plasti Dip over painted surfaces?

Hi I recently made an iron man suit and wore it for a day and the paint started to rub off. It was a quick job and I only applied 3 to 4 layers of PVA before spray painting the suit. The suit turned out to be very bumpy.

I was wondering if it is possible for me to get some plasti dip and spray it on top of that or do I need to recoat it in pva until the whole surface is smooth before spraying plasti dip on?

You can plastidip over the paint, and go over the entire exterior of the suit. If the paint was actually rubbing off and not flaking, the Plastidip will encapsulate the underlayers and then you can essentially start over with your prime/paint.

Yup just had this very problem. I had some scaling issues and paint started coming off. I got enough plati-dip on there after to hide the scaling no problem. about three coats. Be patient don't put on to heavy all at once. Let it dry.

Plasti dip will make your suit look soft/rubber like. I used only 2 layers of 'Elmers Glue All' and it painted smoothly with a solid surface. Haven't had any problems with the paint coming off.

Perhaps its the foam material you used?

Thanks for all the suggestions! I just used regular camping mats for £5 each since it was my first build. I used only 3 coats of PVA before priming and painting it so it looked quite bumpy. I am hoping to get some plasti dip to smooth the surface over to get rid of the bumpy look.

Plasti dip will soften your edges as well. Glue All is a good suggestion as well

go back over everything that is peeling with modge podge, do 2 straight coats and you're good, did that for nightwing armor and green lantern armor, you'll end up wearing out the foam before anything happens to that paint, it works wonders man!
