Interested in seeing the rifle sling as I'm torn between the beneath and the original fixing.
I am not going to try and duplicate the sling from the first Apes movie. They appeared to be mounted on the side of the gun, the HERO versions had bottom stock mounts. They look like they have Heavy thick leather belts attached.
I plan to mount modern swivel swing hardware for the sling mounts. I am getting a modern three point sling - but will get a leather one when I can get to a leather shop and have a custom one cut.

lol), but for my ape rifle I used two swivel slings on it, rather than the 'movie accuarate' screwed to the side body of the gun. I feel the slings work and look better (IMHO)

Perfect, but i really meant the belts with the ammo pouches.
No I did not consider doing the Ammo pouches. I do not have a soldier Uniform to go with it. I thought I would just focus on the armory and examples of the Rifle, pistol, and Machine gun.
I would find someone that is tooled up for custom leather work. I don't have any tools, know how, or material to work in leather props. It would be neat to have.
I love the pics with the Gorilla outfitand full battle gear. :love

Thank you - I love how it feels with the grip design and I love waving it around ! :behave I really just did it because I have knew I could not reproduce the URSUS gun acurately. I thought - well just make one up !! :lol
Thank you for the comments and encouragement. There is a lot more detail and shaping in the grips and pistol that first appears. The are curves and straight edges - it was made to look like a Gorilla put it together !!

Now THAT is an AWESOME Ape costume !!!
The should sling mounted on the bottom of the rifle is the most comfortable and universal. The Heston HERO version was mounted on the bottom.
Man I LOVE that outfit. !!!

Your comments are most welcome. Other than the collar, which is Apemania, all the soft parts are scratch built, with the mask being made from our own Ape Queen, Jessica.
PLEASE SHOW ME MORE APES costume pics - THEY are AWESOME.
For those in the UK - I can do some photoshop picks with measurements - sketch it on to 2" inch pine and start cutting, grinding, and a few hundred hours later you have a machine gun !!!
I like doing props not everyone has - I had to have my own Ape Rifle - but the Machine gun and pistol would make great unique props for pics with the Apes costumes.
PLEASE SHARE your pics - show me your builds - Show me your Apes props !!!
