Just think about the stamp.
Wouldn´t it be easier and much more cheaper to get a negative maschined on a 3d printer and cast the stamps in wax ???????
They would be all exact and you can´t destroy your final letter when something goes wrong with the hot wax.

That would be cool, if someone here could make the files needed to order such from Shapeways.......failing that......
I've been working on the Letter of Marque and the EICo box on and off for a while, and I was thinking of just getting rubber stamps made of an Old English B, and whipping up something for the cypher for a custom stamp from simonstamp.com. They do great fast affordable work. For just a few stampings for your own personal use I don't think it would have to be a metal stamp. Of course if you're making a run of the Letter, I guess the expense of metal custom made would be recoverable.
As for afixing the stamps/seals to the letter, I would advise you do the seal impressing on some non stick surface, practice, practice, and when you get as near to a perfect one as you can get, let it cool and rest--then glue it to your document.
