Pirates of the Caribbean

Found a small typo

Hi chaps!

First, thanks again @Murdoc for the file.
I received the high res, printed in on 125g, nice quality paper, started to age it... and noticed a typo :eek

I'll correct this on Photoshop and print a new version soon, but I thought it would be useful for everyone :

On the document, Line n°16 "Ships of W5ar"

Warm regards,
Tom

Damn, someone really read the whole thing ;). Didn't notice it, thanks for pointing it out. But my letter has been printed and aged. I'm not redoing it again.

On the other hand, if you didn't point it out, the little type would have been a nice "tag" to detect "unauthorized" replica's based on this file. Maybe that was Murdock's purpose of the type ;).

Could be King George I "royal cypher"? I used the king george VI seal to make that "George I" but this kind of royal cypher seems to be quiet the same from the very begining of the "George" lineage .... Hope this help anyway!

It's possible that this is the image in the seal. But I can't make it up out of the posted images. I'll try to make some better screencaps soon...

Many thanks for that info. ! Wasn't my intention to include a "water sign" in it :( If someone want to have a corrected version please let me know. But it may take until the week-end to change this....

Edit: the complete Text is taken from a thread here at TheRPF. I think i stated that somewhere before. I've simply made copy&paste. There is one "word" in the text that i changed, as it fits "better" to the screen used prop.

Thanks, but still can't really make out what's on green seal :-(. What do you guys think it looks like? A letter "G"?

I do not believe it is a "letter". I do believe it is the same drawing as on the blue flag, up left. But thats only a guess.

By the way, do we know if the LoM from the Wiki (http://www.therpf.com/redirect-to/?...448/pirates/images/e/e7/Letters_of_Marque.jpg) is a screen used prop or replica as well? If it is a replica, who did it?

[strike]If you compare it to the screenshot of the movie I posted (especially the shape of the wax seals), than I think it's a pic of the screen used letter. If not, it seems 99% screen accurate.[/strike]
Put on my glasses this time... wax seals do have a different shape. The wiki one is NOT the one seen in the screencap above...

The symbol on the green wax seal is the King George Royal Cypher same as is on the blue paper and on the leather cover.

I think the picture of the LoM in the wiki was made by Capn_Jack_Savvy, a member here.

A search of Google Images for King George Royal Cypher yields images of the various Royal Cypers of the line of King Georges.

If it is indeed Capn_Jack_Savvy's work, than that's really great stuff! In this thread he mentiones that he will do a new run of the leather covers. Maybe his version of the letter replica will be included, who knows... Maybe Capn_Jack_Savvy can tell us ;).

I will hope to someday.........I already have the wax prints. Lord Cutler Beckett's "B" custom made and a custom made King George Royal Seal. And yes..........custom made seals are not CHEAP!!!!

Adobe Illustrator just takes aloooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time!!!!

So, Capn_Jack_Savvy... is the picture of the letter MurdocXXL posted a few posts earlier your creation?

As for the seals: I already have the wax sticks, that's not a problem, and have asked a price for the B-seal. It will be 25 € (so about $ 30 I guess), but not a copper one, but some kind of plastic. What exactly do you mean with "wax prints"?

I used these royal cyphers as a basis for the blue flag i put together and posted a few posts ago. I couldn't find one though that had the extra curly-cues at the ends of the G and R so I had to "modify" the cypher a bit before posting.

I think the wax seal is very similar to the blue flag i posted. (IMHO). It makes sense that all cyphers/seals/flags/stamps/etc. used would be the same.

These are the best screencaps I can make. The green seal is never clearly seen. It can be anything... So the Royal Cyphers is possible...

Actually that is a photo of the original prop from the El Capitan theater in Los Angeles. That is not my letter.

My letter is in progress. The logo at the top is almost finished and I am in the process of hand writing using calligraphy the actual text. No font close to the original writing is out there.........believe me I have searched!!!

The custom made "B" that I had made for Beckett's wax stamp was $90.00 and the crown........well we won't say how much that cost......!!!!

On a side note, I can certainly wait until after the weekend if you plan on working on it. That would be awesome. Thanks again. Awesome work being done here!!

Just think about the stamp.

Wouldn´t it be easier and much more cheaper to get a negative maschined on a 3d printer and cast the stamps in wax ???????

They would be all exact and you can´t destroy your final letter when something goes wrong with the hot wax.

This is from a 1920X800 screen cap

Lighten the picture of the seal and IMO it can rather clearly be seen that it is the Royal Cypher same as is on the leather cover. I pasted beside it a King George II Royal Cyhper with the 2 removed.....and then overlaied same cypher on the seal.
