Hi

I am have a friend who is a professional costume maker, and she is going to make me the Deckard Trench Coat. Does anyone has a good set of pics and/or a pattern of the original, as it's very tough to see all the detail and color from the pics online - many of them make the coat look way too dark.

I've owned several Deckard trench coats, non of which have ever measured up in terms of design, waterproofing, or color. But it there is one constant in my experience, is that the color is never right, either too light or too red/brown.

When it comes to the color, I'd recommend going with a traditional tan or a dark brown like what is seen on an oil skin duster. Either of those colors are more likely to hit the mark for what is seen on film than anything else.

then comes practical use or costume use. For me practical use as a functional raincoat was an area where all have failed. WIth the Abbyshot version 1, it was rainf proof but the color and the collar were off. With the Abbyshot version 2 the color was better but the coat drank water like a thirsty man in the desert, which is useless as a rain coat. With the cheaper costume version, while the color was on point, it was made of cotton and also drinks water like a sieve.

One of these days, when I get some disposable income, I'll have Magnoli make me one in a dark brown waxed cotton and call it a day.

Here's a shot of the actual coat next to the Abbyshot v2:

Here's my Abbyshot v2, tho I will say in person, that coat is about two to three shades more of a light tan than it appears in the picture:

Hope it helps.
