Photoetching Tutorial

I've been toying with the idea of making a tutorial on photoetching for those who might want to make their own brass (or any metal for that matter) parts, and am looking to see if there's enough interest in me doing it. I know the Hellraiser people might want to make custom panels. So aside from them, are there any steampunkers or model builders that don't know how to make your own parts who might want a tutorial?

:EDIT:

Video has been made and can be found here...

I do. I have a big project coming up that is going to need quite a bit. I am not sure if i want to etch or just get someone to laser cut them. Depends on cost and BS involved. I did read a write up on steampunkworkshop but the more info the better. I have been leaning toward laser cutting them just because of the quantity of pieces but cost may end up being too big a factor.

Definitely. I'd like to see more tutorials - maybe even a whole section for tutorials and techniques in general.

Tag it with something in the subject line if you can to make it stand out. I did one yesterday with "[HOWTO]" at the lead, but whatever works.

I, for one, was thinking about a Lament Configuration myself, but I also do a lot of scenic and scale models that would benefit. I'd love to have some help to get me going in the right direction. So, one more vote for "Yes, please"?

Glad there's such interest. I'll start a write up this weekend. To Zombie Killer, firstly - love the name. Secondly I use a negative film photoresist that seems to be available only overseas through ebay. That being said, it's going to take a few weeks for you get the materials. There is a learning curve and the first few attempts may not go as well as you'd like. So if you need something done soon, an etching house might be the way to go until you get the hang of it.

Take loads of pictures (we love pictures) and maybe make a Video tutorial as well. :thumbsup
