PETG visor folds while vacuforming

Hi guys. I'm trying to finish the visor for my son's Daft Punk helmet. I was 90% successful after vacuforming the 0.03 PETG sheet which I prepped for 3 minutes at 350F in the oven. I noticed the top part of the visor developed some folding, what would be the reason for this? And what can I do to improve it? Thanks

Elevate your mould higher by a few inches could help as well.

When prepping PetG, its more of a feel for me.

Wait til it starts to bow down, THEN QUICKLY place over the puck/buck and hit the vaccuum.

Also, 0.03 inches, less than a mm is very thin maybe too thin. It is very delicate and could fold on itself just transfering it to the vaccuum.

I have used 0.125 or 0.06 inch thickness.

Another suggestion is to make it out of resin. You already have the outer portion, make a mold of it, then slush cast it. Sand it down then coat with a clear gloss.

Or...

Make a mold of the outside, fill it with a thin layer of clay or FreeForm Air, then sand it thin.make a mold of the inside, like a sandwich, with the mold material on the top and bottom, and the FreeForm air or clay. Castbit in a very clear resin like Epoxacast

Lotsa different ways to do it.
