Pepakura help

I'm just trying to get a paper pattern for this holster I'm making but putting it through Pepakura Designer breaks it down into a million pieces. Even after moving all the tiny peices it doen't come out at all pattern-y. I've included the original design I did in Autodesk before uploading into Pepakura, as well as examples of the f'ed up crap that came out of the unfolded model. Any help/links to video help using this dang thing would be great!

I'm not very firm with Pepakura, but I think the model has far too much Polygons. With a low polygon model you have easier control how the model is unwraped. There's a tool in Pepakura to control the "seam" of the model. You have to select the edges control the cuts.
Hope this was helpful...

I agree.Either find a simplified model with less polygons,or perhaps what I would do is determine the general outline/contoures of this design and erase anything else within the boundries by using the eraser from the 2D menu.To get a better view I would first disable tabs for gluing.

It's all straight edges and curves though, I don't understand why there's any polygons present. I mean, it's not like it's an intricate design with a ton of details...
