Pepakura flap placement problem

Hey guys, I am working on doing an unfold however it seems like no matter what I do PD puts a cut in one of my parts that doesn't need it. I keep trying to join the faces together and it just moves the cut over from the join. Is it possible to force PD to join them together and not put a flap in?

Your ring is not flat, when your paper page is. That's why this cut is actually needed

You must edit your model with a 3D modeling software to make your ring completely flat. Then you'll be able to cut it up in an unbroken piece of paper.
