Pee-Wee's Big Adventure Bike

possibly scratch the big mirror want..believe i just got one from ebay..didnt have the size listed but comparing to photos and the way rod mounts to mirror housing its definatly bigger than 3" plus its old..it has a amber reflector though

Finally got my frame guard finished. It's being held on with masking tape at the moment, just for the picture. I'll have to make the brackets for it soon. It's made from MDF, and the strips are covered in chrome tape, just like the movie bike.

Happy holidays guys an gals..had to post up a looks like ive been a good boy photo haha

Looks great! Thanks for the plate as well.

Finally picking up my bike from my parents place. Needs a good cleaning... Anyone know the exact frame diameter? There is a dent I need to try and pop out with a frame block BicycleTool.com - Bicycle Tools but want to make sure I get the right one.

Next week I should have a painted bike. Got all the necessary parts so far, just need to fab the custom stuff. Friend of mine works in CAD for a living, going to have him get the skirt guards modeled out and probably take it to a metal fab place he knows.

edit: Disregard the size question, I found my caliper.

sounds cool..post up some pics of the transformation. we like pics

Took a crappy photo today. Fenders going out for repair, just waiting on the springer to arrive so I can get it all painted at once.

CONGRATS on the Pee-wee tweet!

How are you guys attaching the plywood backing for your saddlebags? Are you fiberglassing them in or using countersink screws along the edge of the bag?

Countersunk screws along the edge is how it was done on the screen used bikes. That's how Abe did it too I believe.

For the bags, I hot glued it in to set them, then screws.
Ed almost done cleaning/assembling up the first replica tiger head, I made the bubbles and painted them red. Mainly just fitting the electronics, and I need to go buy screws for the all of them.

haha thank you guys.. i didnt think he would actually post it up. then i saw it and was like saweeet! i liked reading all the comments.

Where is a good place to buy the black project box for the handlebar? I was going to buy it from Alltronics.com but they have a $20 minimum order (the box is only $4.25). I then tried Santa Cruz Electronics, but their security certificate expired 2 years ago so I was sketchy about submitting my credit card info on their checkout page. Finally, in frustration, I decided to check out the project box manufacturer site, LMB Heeger. I started to place my order and then discovered that their checkout page is not secure! Any other leads? Thanks.

I'll add my name to the list if you need a $20 minimum if you're willing to ship to me. Others may need one too.

Okay, I just ordered 5 boxes. I'll let you guys know when they arrive and we can sort out details then. I have one reserved for me, Splurge, Nick and kxazbug. If anyone wants the last one, just let me know.

Had a couple hours free last night and decided to finish up my chaingaurd... Its basically done but i still need to do some finish sanding and a skim coat of bondo... I cut out a dark grey decal for mockup purposes... Havent decided how im going to attach the decorative parts but im thinking i may just stick them on with double sided tape...

The chain guard looks great. If your decorative parts are made of metal I think a small dab of JB Weld would probably hold up better than 2-sided tape.
