24 Hours Of Le PeeWee Build
I found out on Friday at noon that the Alamo Drafthouse here in Austin was having a bike-rally screening of Pee Wee's Big Adventure Saturday at 7pm.
So I decided to build a 24 hour rat-rod 'Satan's Helper' bike with all the parts I have in buckets in the shed.
FRIDAY:
Started with my $20 frame.

Scrubbed the frame with WD40 and 00 steel wool, then wiped clean and turtle waxed.
Added 24" shorty Wald BMX fork, Schwinn cruiser crank with MAG sprocket, Schwinn bearings and seatpost clamp.

Wald seatpost, Schwinn stem, Prewar Shelby wide Handlebars ($2 and rusty!), Rear heavy duty CMC wheel with vintage Indian Head blackwall Lightning Dart rear tire, Front heavy duty rim from a 60s Huffy Tandem, Brickwall Swallow front tire, Schwinn pedals.

I built a simple rear rack and twin-fin setup with scrap wood and plexiglass. I actually spent five hours on Friday night building a design that went nowhere and ended in disaster. I woke up Saturday morning with this in my head:
