Pee-Wee's Big Adventure Bike

going to redo my tank vents? always thought they had lines on them but after lookn at pictures closer i think its just the edge of the chrome tape on them.

I think it will be nearly impossible to get true screen accuracy since there will always be some amount of variation with the parts of the bike that were custom fabricated. I'm going to make mine look as much like the movie bike as I can so that only us Pee Wee freaks on this board will notice the components that aren't 100% screen accurate. The average guy on the street will think "Hey, that's a Pee Wee Herman bike." And that's good enough for me. I have other bikes to restore and if I get too hung up on this one it will be a never-ending project.

guys,
just so you know I'm using this project box, LMB #00Z from LMB Heeger inc. W 2.125"x L 2.25"x H1.75", it seem different from the size I posted becasue I think I measured it without the top on. Also .040 Aluminum.

Nice bike, your lucky to have the correct fenders already.
head over the thecabe.com or ratrodbikes.com when you need to sell your spare parts.

Thanks, I was really happy to find one with the correct fenders too. They're a little dinged up, gonna have to fix some dents on them. The paint is really nice on it, but it's maroon and silver, so it's got to go too. Spray paint and white pinstripes are on order from Amazon, and my repro tank and 29" cruiser bars just came in the mail too. I'm hoping to get this think sanded down and ready for paint by tomorrow.

Here's a stupid question, does anybody have a good trick for getting the motorcycle grip to fit properly, or should I have bought two sets?

The guy that sells the grips also sells them for bicycle use, which is both 7/8 not one 1" for throttle and one 7/8". Maybe if you write or call him and ask?
Or if nothing else, when you make the aluminium collar get some old 1" bars and make a breakaway handlebar like in the movie, I'm doing that one one set of bars. I machined one collar to be 1" on one end and 7/8" on the other.

Those fenders look a lot straighter than mine. there is a guy at the cycle swap that rolls fender straight, I'll get pricing this weekend, I some done too.

I see you also got the welded on kickstand, lucky, I like that style better, I've got both with the bolt-on style.

another donor bike finished on ebay for about 140.00 with correct fenders and frame.

Jaime, I'll be posting some more images of springers on the X1, I notices two different type of springers being used as I was looking at screen caps.

I swear I saw molded style steering tube bottom on one of the bikes-will look for the shot, also in the devil sequence you can see the stem is the later style like a stingray.

In this photo I noticed this before, but I didn't want to cause more trouble the brake lever is Not the MX short lever it is longer and straighter I found one months ago like this as a option....:angel

tell me when you find a mini fog machine DC powered for less than a hundred bucks.
yes there are a few different versions of the bike.

good catch on the lever, the mount looks similar but the lever looks different.
Also the chainguard must have been plastic to bend and kink like that.

How are you coming with your Eddie Munster bike anyhow??

Yeah the smoke screen is a issue...:lol

There are too many versions I don't really think it matters as long as the main parts are recreated small details we are going haggle over from now on...:wacko

I have almost all the correct parts from it too just like the Pee-wee bike and also it needs major fabricating... Thanks for the heads up on the auction I did get the photos from that which helped a great deal I am still searching for a clear image of the first promo photos of it I have a leed on them:ninja....

It is just sitting and waiting for me as well as my other 100 + bikes....:sick

Jamie

Some progress today. I got the bike completely torn down, which was a learning experience for me. Especially when it came to getting the crank and the bearing cups off. I had to have a local bike shop remove the kickstand though. I got the tank stripped and ready for primer and body filler, tomorrow I'll attack the frame.

I won an auction for a Mesinger seat today too.

Ruddigger i got the motorcycle grips also..duh not thinking..but my trick was to wrap a few layers of duct tape around bar up to edge of grip to make up differance..spray it with some hairspray to slide it on,,then once it drys it sticks like glue..cant even tell now on my bike

my chainguard painted and pee wee house snowman..also realized i have the same robot that is on the wall behind pee wee in the breakfast scene..
