Pee-Wee's Big Adventure Bike

My bell came in!

I also ended up buying a Cricut to use as a poor man's laser cutter for making a chain guard template to give to a local metal fabricator. Cuts 2mm chipboard and is so much faster than using my 3d printer. Was originally looking at the Glowforge but the more affordable ones get terrible reviews! The Cricut did a pretty clean job!

I think they have been saying that the wheels are 26" CMC aftermarket wheels, available around the time of filming (so early 80's). Probably affiliated somewhat with the BMX craze that was going on at the time (note the kids that show up in the movie with bit parts, etc.) So, in this case, Ebay or FB Marketplace would be your best friend, MovieManiac. :)(y)

Generic heavy duty wheels like this are pretty much the same as the ones in the screen used bikes.

Could we connect on making mudflaps? I cannot seem to find any anywhere and I do not have a 3D printer. Any help would be appreciated!

Does anyone still create the three saddle bag pieces? Also, looking for any replica or 3D printed mud flaps. I unfortunately do not have a 3D Printer so hoping to connect with someone.

Was talking to someone about this and figured I’d share it here. The evolution of the poster bike.

Original pic is top left with “Schwinn” on the tank. This is the bike that inspired the movie and is on the cover of the script.

For the poster (top right) the “Schwinn” was removed from the tank and the sign removed from the front triangle

Next one bottom left bags were added.

Then finally it was fully airbrushed to match what we see on screen.

Thanks for those, RBJ. Always cool to see the progression of things in the marketing materials over time. (They still missed editing the Tiger Siren, but we'll forgive them for not doing their due diligence, lol. They haven't look at the bike 1,000 times like we have.)

I heard that the Pee Wee bike was taken out of the Hollywood Museum..trying to confirm that but if anyone goes there please let us know

I just got some signal stat lights in, and was wondering how they mount on the back? I watched a video of the Bicycle Heaven donated bike (screen used), and the lights were literally screwed into the saddle bags?!?

Yup..screen used bike pictured here. Lenses are cut shorter and drilled for a screw right through the center
