thanks again, i dug around thru his pile of about 500 seats although i need to dig again and didnt spot anything..it seems the repop seats with the chrome rail springs look most like it to me? but i will get the correct one..got my bondo glass tiger painted and mounted..ya its just a prop. tried to paint it like the goofy sloppy painted version in the movie. i know to the pee wee purists its not correct but hey its better than nothing..totally made out of bondo fiberglass and foam. i may hollow it and install a speaker and ipod hookup to play the big adventure soundtrack as i ride..any one have a close up of the backside of a real one so i can mimic it, just left back blank for now. goin to redo my center skirt also. Abelugo yours looks really good and like the movies..made me realize mine looks like poo and can be better..hey i thru it together in a few for a evening city ride..so redo skirt and figure out the chainguard. i wanted to use sheet metal but with out a stamping or wheel unsure of how ill get the edge to look right.

Kxazbug,
That looks great for hand sculpting bondo! If you ever need to back to it you can also use sculpty it's a bit more forgiving and you can use a blow dryer or heat gun to cure it.
But yeah good job.

thanks, i actually made the model with sculpting clay then covered it in rtv after about a week of drying i have the mold for the tiger, i tried just filling it with fiberglass resin but it never dried fully so bondo was the last resort..the head is hollowed bondo the backside is that green foam for fake flowers that i drew a template on and sanded and carved..i then glued the whole thing together with resin. i was afraid it would be fragile but after the resin this things tough..welded up a bracket primed and painted its ready to go.

Here are some pics of the gallery 1988 art show, it was fun, I bought a few of the prints that were available, a lot of the art sold quickly. There are probably only a few originals still for sale.
It would have been great to show up with a finish X1 bike, but I have a bunch of things going on at the same time and many to do's on my own X1.

BTW, I happened to be at the Santa Monica Promenade yesterday, There was a farmers market going on so I couldn't get all the pics I wanted, but here where Chuck's bike shop was.

mines a one off and im not exactly sure how it compares sizewize to a real one as ive never seen one. i basically wanted one or the look of one and was determined so i mimic'ed one from movie shots. once i get more free time i may make another or if anyone wants to give it a try and has better materials..i got the rtv mold of my tiger head.

Working on my tiger head, I don't have good images of the left side of the lower mouth. but I think it's coming along nicely.

awesome job! all the pics i used are same as you got..went looking for something to use as the joint where the right grip popped off, couldnt find anything aluminum that looked right but discovered a 1/2 inch pvc coupler..rasped out on the inside a hair to fit over the handlebars and a 90 cent set screw..drill a hole for the set screw..paint it with aluminum paint then install on bars mimics one quiet nicely..is there a part number or way i can find what to use for the black box with the buttons on handlebars.

I'll have to measure the black box and repost it, I think Ed and Jack posted it about 3 pages back- we found that most of the older mom and pop electronics stores have the correct box size.
The collar piece is just a machine piece of aluminum, it about 1.375" in length and 1.25" diamter, I think the set screw is .25".

Good substitution if you don't have a lathe available.

thank you for the info Abe, ive got myself some posterboard and have been sitting in front of the tv making patterns for my chainguard and redoing my center skirt to be more movie correct..if only some tracings of real pieces was available. im thinking on my guard it will be sheetmetal and then im goin to have to tack weld a 1" lip around top and fashion brackets, i have no way of making the top lip look like a stamping..figure ill fill the seem with body filler and blend. ive also noticed in some shots the guard appears to have louvers punched in it and then a white arrow goin thru..while others just seem the white. the pvc coupler piece looks cool for a few bucks..im a VW tech and good at fabricating, just basically only have automotive tools and knowledge so no lathe avail.

Can you get some tight pics of the left side of the tiger head?
Also a dead on shot of the siren bracket?
maybe some detail shots that are focused, all mine were blurred, is the chain a diamond chain?

talk about lucky for you Abelugo, those are some great shots..wish i had those when i molded mine up. got my templates all set up for the guard and center skirt, next to work on the rear skirt guards. tomorrow these will go off to work with my buddy who works in a sheet metal shop for a major airline. he can makes this stuff out of aluminum stainless titanium...haha.. they will basically look like i bought them when hes done trimming them out.
