Pee-Wee's Big Adventure Bike

The common horn you find on ebay is about 4", the one I made is close to 6-6.25" then there is large metal chrome one, its like 9-10". There an old bicycle horn ad that shows up on ebay that shows the three different sizes in one ad, just can't find it right now.

The magic here is adding the SFX chip and using the button to activate it.
I'm still editing the SFX, unless I find a good one or record one myself. I'm also going to have to figure out how to chrome it.

Hey guys, I finally got my saddlebags! (Some assembly required.)

Foam. The sculpts are mostly done, just need a bit of refining. Then I'll be making silicon molds and fiberglassing them. I should be able to make several if all goes well.

I'm waiting to get a new vacuum cleaner so I can repurpose the old one into a vacuum-forming table, that way I'll just have to make basic foam shapes and make the plastic mold, then fiberglass the undersides.

I've seen that done with these bags. Good luck, it's certainly do-able, but not easy. There's a lot of cleanup work necessary, and in the end I think a straight fiberglass piece works best.

I will post photos of the brass nozzles when I get them. After I get my wheels aligned I am going for my first ride on my bike TODAY! Wish me luck. Does anybody know of a strong kickstand to use. My prewar one was designed for the original frame. I would not be pleased if my ride dumped because my kickstand folded like it wants to currently. What are you all using for kickstands now? Any photos or links to good ones? Chromed out?

The kickstand to use is a greenfield accessory stand, you can find them for like 8-15 bucks. The are made so you can cut them to length.

Can't wait to see how the saddlebags turn out. I have to start on mine at some point, but that will be a bit away.

Yeah, me too. Lol. I'm gonna do them up right because I really want to be able to make extras, which is why I spent so much money on silicone. They should be clean, very accurate, and sturdier than vacuuform, plus they'll be hollow, so they're functional.

Sounds great. I'll do mine out of fiberglass too. I thought about doing mine out of vac form like the originals because of the cost, but ultimately love the idea of them being sturdier.

Been a busy weekend. Hope to post a bunch of pics soon. Been tinkering a lot with the fender skirts in particular. After getting them mounted, I put the tires back in & realized that I had lifted my fenders significantly in order to mount the truss rods in their proper location. Doh!

I'll have to drill new holes in the bottom of the truss rods so I can lower the fenders back like they should be. Before I re-do them, does anyone have suggestions on the best way to make sure the skirts stay put, without having to drill a ton of holes into them? How did you all get yours to stay in place? Did you actually attach the skirts permanently to the fenders via welding, rivets, etc, or are they just mounted to the truss rods? Right now I just have a ton of wire holding them in place on the frame, but that doesn't seem like a terribly permanent solution.

Here is the trick, basically you build a new fender brace but one that is flat bar, about 1/2" wide flat bar looped around like the original, you use that instead of the original rear brace. The skirt will then sit flat against that. I drilled two small holes on either ends of where the skirts touch and added wire and twisted it, you also bolt it in but the wire is less noticeable

Ahh, makes sense. Now I understand. What I assumed was just for reinforcement on your skirts was actually the truss rod essentially. Next time I hit the hardware store I'll look for a 1/2" bar for that.

LOL! I think Francis is buying tires again. An hour & 45 minutes left & they are already over $260 for the pair.

Small update. My bike is at the pin striper. I think the guy thought I was crazy making him go through hundreds of pictures of screen used bikes to decide how mine should look. Luckily he's a good egg and stayed awake.
