Pee-Wee's Big Adventure Bike

Thanks to Mark and his Dad over at Cannfab! Insanely beautiful WORKING bags they fabbed for me. Hope to have these installed in a few weeks.

Beautiful craftsmanship on those bags. I'm super jealous.

*edited out comment about the red stripes. My bad.

The chrome part is supposed to have the red stripes, they're not supposed to go all the way to the edges though. At least I don't think so.

Sorry....you are right. In looking at my pictures, I always thought that the chrome tape was exposing the red underneath, but in fact it's the red tape pealing up to expose the chrome tape. I've looked at these pics 100 times and didn't catch that.

My bad.

Thanks Droidboy, also I was wrong, in that the red stripes DO go all the way to the edges. I have some good pictures of the Hollywood bike that shows the stripes very well.

That looks great so far. What kind of springer fork do you have on there? I can't seem to find an S-bolt Schwinn fork that's not rusted out, I may break down and buy the repro that's always on eBay.

You can get a 1995 repop fork or a pyramid/sunlite springer fork and change the front springer holder part to the original style, then just find "S" bolts by themselves. The show up now and them at different prices. or get it from Niagra cycle for like 40.00

S bolts ebay item 310852962847

this is part that is way different on those springers item on ebay, 301083084705, there are also some difference in the bolts within the springer, but I know you can just change over the yoke and be good. I would hold out on the yoke though, I have found these at swapmeets for as little as 5-10 bucks.

Abelugo is dead on, I bought a 1995 springer off of a phantom, I think, strictly based on the nice chrome, it's not perfect but im using a 40s dx frame, for sentimental reasons,so I've accepted I'm building an inspired bike and am ok with the set up I have, I plan on chroming my bike out so to get good parts I have to compromise, I bought two springers before i got the one shown, and to rechrome them was insanely expensive, i will say that all three springs and assemblies are identical(as ). The one shown was about a 100 bucks! Way cheaper than rechromimg somthing vintage! It's all about what u want, I'm
Not selling mine, I'm riding it!!!

this is the same guy I bought mine from, and it is the small Taiwan version, he must have run across a few of them in an old store or something, he either found this forum or somebody tipped him off about the high prices being paid, I'm soooo lucky I got mine when I did.
P.S., I wonder if the guy building the $10,000.00 X-1 struck again?

Freakin' nuts. Why someone would pay $1200 for something that sells for $300-ish sometimes is baffling. There was literally one 6 weeks ago that sold for $325. One born every minute...

I'm pretty sure whoever is buying all these expensive parts is out there in the dark watching this thread. And once he finishes the bike, he will reveal himself to us as the millionaire bike builder.
