One problem...when I looked really closely in a couple areas, there is some cracking:

Any ideas on what I should do? Just paint over it? I don't know what caused it...
I know what caused it and this isnt to critisize cause it looks fantastic. You used prosaide mixed with the paint to paint it. I was tought by Pete Manders and from the guys on the FX lab that paint mixed with prosaide or pax paint which is basicly what your making with that combination. Is used for foam latex appliances that you wear once and toss not for latex masks or costumes. I was told to mix the createx paints with monstermakers latex paint base or Pete just takes some of his mask latex and mixes it with the paint and a little water. I know people have been using this prosaide mixed with paint for years but every costume or mask that I purchased allready painted with that cracked really bad. But having said that the paint job is looking fantastic and it may be fine if its just going to be a display piece that doesnt get flexed alot.

Thanks for the feedback Dwayne. Its for display only because its full of foam to hold its shape.

I think my paint cracked because the paint wasn't thinned enough, because when I thinned it down a bit more there was no cracking. It’s a VERY picky mixture. Then I went ahead and mixed my paint with prosaide (PAX). I figured out that the paint/prosaide mix has to be PERFECT for it not to crack (too thick) or be too thin.

Once I got the right mixture, there was not more cracking...

that looks really good.

what did you use to paint the veins, i assume a really small brush?

also, if you want to, if you were to mist a very light coat of pink over the veins, it will make them look like there under the skin.

2 thumbs up

Yes Mr fettster, I used 2 fine tip markers from Marvy Le Plume:

I KNEW someone would tell me to lightly coat it with pink! I wish I still had the airbrush, but the person I borrowed it from needed it back ASAP because he uses it for work all the time. Oh well...;)

The veins actually don't look that bright when I don't overexpose the picture. I'll take more pics withOUT overexposure and post the pics up...the veins don't look like they need a light spray of pink, so I think I can get away with not putting a light spray of pink over top. Yes it would be perfect, but I don't have that as an option...

More pics of painted teeth to come!

Man bro..those teeht look excellent.I like how you did the whole start to finish theme...he's bad ass. ;)

Can't wait to see this guy after the perma-wet coating. ;)
