Ok guys, I'm back to the drawing board.
I am thinking of making a Pac-Man set of costumes (Pac-Man, Mrs. Pac-Man, and either the baby pacman or dress our kid up as a ghost.. great for when we put him down and he crawls away).
I'd like to make a spherical body shell, covering my torso only (neck to thighs). I'm thinking of using foam glued together and shaped into a sphere. I'm on the fence as to whether I should use the foam for the actual costume, or take a papier mache casting off the foam and use that as the costume.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to pull this off, or if nothing else, where I can find the cheapest foam suitable for this purpose?
Kind of like this, except our heads would stick out where the hat/bow goes (our churches have a no-mask policy):
