Im not sure if its something the Lair coined as a name, but i know the RE-BREATHER name has been around since the old lair.

Well looking at the Hot Toys Battle damaged one they dont eve seem to mention it =S but they do have some reference pics. I cant remember if it actually looks this way i the film but if you ask me your design is far better

it would actually be really kewl to make a bio with only the bottom half. Like somethig out of mortal kombat...hmmmmm *gets scribbling*

awesome work as allways lee just wondering if you made a dummy mold off of your P2 mask then sculpted on that dose not look like you will need much silicone to mold that and as for that copper pipe is that from some ones brake lines on a car lol i cant wait to sell this casted

i guess since hot toys didn't have the lair ref pics they couldn't sculpt it accurate....

like they did with the LH...am i bitter....nah,...we are here for all..... to draw from the well of knowledge.

Well, that was on my long list of things I wanted to sculpt...can scratch it off now. Awesome job Lee, can't wait to see it molded. If I may throw some advice out on molding chavant NSP, be careful which silicone you use. NSP can cause problems for platinum cure silicones, even if it's been sealed.

PS: Don't use copper powder for casting. It sucks.

Thanks for the thoughts on the silicone, Ive used both TOMPS RTV, and MOULDLIFES TINSIL 7025 on my wall plaques and didnt have a problem with either.
I THINK i did however use SONITE WAX to seal them if memory serves me correct, which maybe why i did not have the issues you mention, either way ill do the same again hehe.

Thanks for the heads up on the copper, ill steer clear of it.

Yes, that is the real one. The only constructive criticism I have on your sculpt Lee is that the the upper mandible section appears "fatter" than the real one. I mean the real one seems to have a slimmer appearance for that top section on the back end of the piece.

I'm really glad someone attempted this oddball piece (YAY Lee!). It's a cool prop, I think, but not one anybody has rushed to make before.

Totally agree with you on the thickness of the upper blade/mandible things, i do intend to thin them down, but have not done it as yet due to me worrying about bashing them, it will be fairly easy to thin them down after im done and ive figure out how to mould it hehe.

I already see plenty of other things that are wrong, the length of the peice could have done with being longer, the tubes underneath look more like rings, ( but i would have had to make them seperately if i chose that way, and im not 100% sure if they are rings or not ) and a couple of other little things.

I guess i should say mine is BASED on the P2 re-breather hehe, sort of mid ground between screen used and Hot toys guess work.

promise ill slim down the upper blade/mandible pre moulding

I really think yours is fine as is. It looks far better and more predatory than Hot Toys, and pretty damn close to P2/Brian Jones' version.

Well i guess ill say this now, this was something that i thought would look cool on a wall, but i will be sharing, ONLY as long as the 1st mould lasts, so i guess it will be a limited run.

Of course i will be contacting Mi6/NSA/FBI and CIA to insert tracking devices in all of these

( havent we heard that before )

Hopefully i can get some time in the next couple of days to finish this off, i havent checked my silicone situation as yet but im hopefull i have enough left.
