P2 Closed Mouth Build. Raw Latex 1St Pull P24 24/11/11

That's looking real sweet so far. That P2 shot has always been one of my favs
Knock it outta the park leeman!!

only had a short amount of time today. So i started fleshing out the jaw as something is bugging me about the head and i thought the cheaks may help me spot it, apparently not, so i will have to add some more clay.

as you can see there are quite a few symetry issues, ( mainly because i have only tweaked the left side so far, but here it is deformed and all etc.

I think i will have to sort out the symetry with the right eye ball and size of outer socket/right jaw line and dread holes being too big too high etc, before i go much further. but again time will be short for about 10 days or so, so may not have much to show sorry.

lee thats coming along nicely..

just two things i spotted tho.. perhaps its just me.. but i think the eye brows need to be angled a bit more... they look a bit flat if ya get me..

and the left lower jaw of the sculpt seems to flare out more than the right.. I know your still in early stages . just something I see..

awesome mate.....the only thing is the left eye (as you look at it) and the bit around it is a bit smaller then the other side, but thats about it mate

Exceptional Lee its coming along nicely, there is small flaws but you've abit to go yet and knowing how much a perfectionist you are they will be fixed. Very nice so far looking forward to seeing it come together. :D

I think it's coming along nicely. Went ahead and threw together a quick comparison shot for you. Keep in mind, the angle of the shot is different. I went ahead and lined it up at the brow line for you. If you were able to better match the screen shot angle, I could do a better symmetry analysis for you. :D

Very impressive. I really like that the "journey" won because it gives an example of how you sculpt and your process and it is very helpful as well as interesting!

you're really workin your magic already on this bro, would be awesome to see a timelapsed video of you building this at 100 mph :D

looking forward to more progress man!

**** me....people been busy round here lately man...looking good Lee.....gotta be an easier way to go to do the eye area first before the mandibles get in the way.
I so want to get stuck into a new sculpt.....but there is a whole list of stuff that I have got to do before I get the time....and there is an even bigger list of things that I WANT to do when I get some time that I just dont know what to do first lol.
Hows the silicone mask comeing on?......any progress made on that over the hols?

yeah im taking baby steps lol.

yeah i need to crack on with the mouth detail and the eyes really but i am going to do a temp flesh up of the mandibles when i get alittle time, to see if i can pin point whats bugging me, although i want it to look roughly like the pics i posted, i still want my take on it to show through, but i really do not want to let my own ideas make me stray like i did with bubba. ( as that went too far )

I feel your pain with stuff you want/need and have to do hehe. I get torn between things all the time, and i may have a proper commision coming up next month, so im all flusterd, and kicking myself i started a new scultp in a way.

as for P1, i have about 15% of the mould to clean out, then i need a good 3 or 4 days free to pour foam and paint it, i do not see when i will get that much time to be honest though. As soon as ive done that i will be jumping onto my torso sculpt, aaaarg more projects.

I seriously need to learn to work on one or two things at a time, i just get sidetracked way too easily.

lol......dont talk to me about sidetracking lol......i sidetrack so easy it like i'm part crab
I think my main problem is that I work on my dining room table (shed is full of kids bikes, pool, scooters, kites, boards, lawnmower etc) dont have a big enough garden for another shed, dont have a garage....so i'm stuck for space and I can only do one process at a time as I only have enough space for one set of equipment and still have a little working space left to do whatever I am doing at the time, concequently, I spend alot of time clearing things away and getting more stuff out ready for the next stage that by the time i'm all set up, motivation has fallen....another problem is if I have to wait a little while for things to dry or cure, i'll sit at the computer or and get distracted and loose track of time.
I'm hoping to move into a workshop this year so I can get organised and have a station permanently set up for each processs, that way, i'll be able to do a little of everything during any waiting time so I can make better progress with my time and run a few different projects along side each other.

You do realise , more space means more projects get started hehe.

on a side not, morph MAY not survive this journey, i might need him to lay down his life for the sculpts sake. :D

all i will have time for today was to quickly throw some rough upper and lower mandibles, gives me a idea of scale and overall look. i can see whats bugging me now hehe.

sorry for small updates, but im happy to show flaws and all.

That's absolutely looking excellent, Lee. The brow is raised up nice just like the P2 sculpt in your signature. I'm confident you won't need to trash "Morph" here. I understand you're very critical of your work so just try to take some time & see if it dosen't just jump out at you what you need to fix.

I've often stared at problems right in the face & hours later figured out the oh-so-simple solution.

Looks very cool so far lee. Got a really good basic shape goin on there. Looking forward to seeing this progress
