Sorry to here about the cast, thats a bummer. Is there nothing that can be done to save it?
All in all, I'm glad things worked out in the end. And like George said, there is a lot to be learned from trial and error.
Still looks like a ridiculously sick mask. The paint job is really going to bring this puppy to life.
If I may ask, how much silicone did you use? And how much do you think you would you have needed to do it the way you originally hoped to?
Even though it's the first silicone pull you've done I think it looks really great! how many coats did you end up doing with the 1lb or so of it? and how many would you recommend if it was to be done again? Once I get set up and start doing my first sculpt I would also like to try the silicone route at least once ( and since it will be my first sculpt It won't really bother me if it doesn't come out great.. lol)
Non-the-less great job overall and it looks great man!!

You miss read, i think i NEEDED 1lb more. Sorry as i said above i did not weight the silicone prior, i just kept mixing small batches and doing layer after layer.
