I'm guessing most people haven't even seen this movie. "Outlander" was a scifi movie about soldier chasing a monster to a middle ages Scandinavia. It was essentially a retelling of "Beowulf." The monster was impervious to the Viking weaponry and the soldier instead recovered some debri from his space ship, which crashed, and had a blacksmith sharpen some debris of the ship into bladed weapons. That's why the sword is fugly, it wan't meant to be pretty, it was meant to be crash debris.

That sword is spot on & very nice work too. Yea it`s not the traditional of swords though then again seeing as it`s made from Space alloys into this weapon, not a surprise really.

Very nice job.

The entire Hilt and Pommel of that sword in the first photos is missing, however. Dunno whats going on with the blade there, either. It must have been from the scene where they are forging it. I did a 3D render of this sword awhile back which I will dig up later if I can find it.

(Posted some of this in the gun thread already...) Yeah, it's from the scene where they were forging it. The upper half (with the handle) is aluminum, and the lower, dark half is actually steel sort of riveted to the other half. That way it wasn't quite as heavy, but could still be hammered on without completely flattening it.

The hero sword was kept by the production company.

I have the only other sword like this that Premiere sold, but it was made (apparently by mistake) at 1/2 the size of the original, so it's only about 2 1/2 feet long. But the detail and measurements are accurate (to scale, at least...), missing a few drilled holes. Also missing the handle details. I can provide better pictures of it if anyone wants...
