a friend is in the process of making a TOS bridge and this is one of the things he needs. a large graphic would be the most helpful but a large image would also help because i think he could make it in illustrator or something.

heres the astrogator

Thats a great pic. Dont think I have ever seen it so clear.

And to think navigating the galaxy is as easy as spinning a big dial.

Not sure if this is the same, but you might look at temperature/humidity guages. In the computer lab I used to work in we had a device that would graph current temperature and humidity onto a paper circle like that. I've seen them used in museums as well.

Wait a minute... "your friend is making a BRIDGE?. :lol

Can I come play at HIS house after school? :D

Anyway... yeah. Note that the yellow/orange thing in the middle seems to be a disc shaped object with some concentric ridges on it... some sort of serving dish perhaps?

The tripod thing in the center is dimensional as well. Note the nail ("pointer") at the top.

The numbers around the edge (two sets) look like degrees, 0-360.

It almost looks like part of a large training aid for a flight computer.

OR maybe a radar screen overlay?

this never panned out for him. does anyone have any leads on a scalable graphic for the background portion (behind the yellow/orange plate and tri-pronged thing) or am i going to have to learn how to use illustrator? :)

Here's a shot from a not too often seen angle. It's from Charlie X. Shows the pointer in better detail and also reveals a half moon piece that either was removed in later episodes or is just difficult to see otherwise. I've always thought that the pointer was a plastic compass which would explain the "pointer" as well off center pivot which is where you would have the adjuster for the compass.

So i gave up on the idea of finding an easy route and decided to do it myself in Illustrator which required I learn how to use Illustrator. I'm about 60-70% done. I'll post it when i'm done for anyone who wants it.
