Original stormtrooper blaster prop

Thx for the pics

Cut down REAL sterling mags - YES
Production made/ screenused - Who knows!?

Without anybody sceenmatching this magazine to one of the E11s or identifying it as legit by looking at reference pics, it is nothing more than "a" cut down mag.

Reg. all the comments directed at you...
YOU claimed to have a StarWars blaster, built from "all original parts" based on a real deactivated C96!

Even without ANY insight or background knowledge about the actual screenused blasters, it should have been pretty obvious, that you are dealing with a REPLICA C96 ( and the Denix is a VERY obvious reproduction) and REPLICA parts (at least looking at the copyright information on the scope). This is the RPF, so you should have been "warned", that people here are very nitpicky :lol

Is it a nice blaster, yes...still, even after more accurate versions are available now.
Is it a collectible, esp. with Harrisons autograph...hell yes!
Is it what you claimed it to be...NO NO NO :cool

Yea, I apologize for being hard - this thread started with very little info, and wild claims. It was only until we pestered you that some help came. Especially after claiming that MR was a screen prop - that swung everyone into suspicion. This just isn't how people usually approach us. Maybe there's a language barrier as well, because the jokesters that come on here type lots of things with little punctuation and get defensive without offering much help.

I'll echo Markus...

You said you MADE that from spare parts.. This is the coincidence of the century or a total fabrication (pun intended).

Also, thd9791: they speak english in the UK too. Subsequent posts point to his language grasp is just fine. There's no barrier aside from a flawed introduction.

Also, I understand... it's hard to go back now. You'll never truly admit to trying to pull our legs a bit on the Han Solo Blaster, so let's just leave it.

Dumb question, were the blasters in the movie actually modified sterlings? I always thought they were stunt rubber copies. Maybe I assumed wrong all these years.

Anyone suggesting he had a box of spare parts and was lucky enough to come an exact copy of the original MR Han replica is far more gracious than I'm prepared to be and now makes the veracity of the stormtrooper parts very difficult to take. Done with this thread.

Yes. The original E-11s were modified Sterlings.
Production also made some stunt versions that were resin or rubber.
Also; over the years, Lucasfilm/ILM has made resin "appearance" E-11s (for movie openings or events) that are castings that have been remolded by ILM at least twice, and have various initials of modelshop members in the trigger area.

Thanks Duncanator, I figured this was the case, I wonder how many "real" blasters were actually made. (I'm asking rhetorically but some one here probably knows the exact number)

Interesting about the model shop guys adding initials I'm totally going to start doing that.

Even Lucasfilm doesn't know how many blasters were made over the course of all the films, videos and personal appearances they've put on. At best, they might have a list of how many were ordered for some of the films, but that may not align with how many actually got made. Often during the rush of production they realize they need more of something and simply say "we need a couple more of these" and there is no paper trail.

They did that to try to document that these molds were made at a certain time for a certain project.

Dear Markus,Thd9791 and scottjua
thank you all for your Honest comments ..I agree with Markus The blame really is from me as my approach was not the way you guys do things.i would like to say in my ( small) defence , that the information that I claimed they were actual parts ..from the movie ( like so many other people I can imagine) and the only reason I believed this was because the person who told me was part of the original crew ..( he's now in his late 70s) somebody who I trustand respect...and though he still owns crew gifts & his original script for the script breakdown, I believed him, because he was there but even to this day he says 'arh it's just a bloody film ' it was just another job.

It wasn't until a friend of mine who is a stand by props dept.informed me of this site and said they are harsh but won't feed you any bull****.. So I thought there's only one way to find out.
about if the mags are real and b. If they are how can you prove it, that's how it started.
i should have done an intro as a new member but didn't!..
Even though I'm a massive fan I'm no way near your league that's obvious with the MR blastergste issue, but once again I thought they were original parts I had no reason to doubt the people who told me.
you guys go into extreme detail and your passion for this SW films show , But yes I'm very lucky to have had the opportunity to work on some great features and with some awesome people and in turn Get given a box of REPLICA parts and told why don't you see if all the parts are there and if so put it together..and like I said in previous posts sorry if you find it unbelievable, but that's exactly how it was.
forgive me for being so defensive, I fully understand your comments.
however I have thoroughly enjoyed the banter,it's very addictive I've only been a member for a few days and pissed off half the members ( scottjua) and have hardly done any of my own work at all.
saying that I've worked on a couple of sci-fi films this year ..who knows how they will turn out ,not SW but I was lucky enough to see the 1:1 scale tie fighters & falcon.
anyway thank you gents I'll now and introduce myself as a new member.
its been emotional.

I'm less p'd off, and more puzzled.

Anyway, as you put it, those guys from the original production... their memory has to be given a pass to a degree. Every time we hear from them who were actually doing the props and set decoration, the story changes in the details. So there's lots of misinformation coming even from the guys who actually did it.

I'm in in England and i can, for example here is a picture of a potato

I was given this potato by a guy who works in the film industry, its made from all original parts.

Would love to see your Ford autograph, is it on the blaster?
Hi ..no it's not on the blaster..its just on a white card.
" happy 11th birthday jack , may the force be with you ..Han solo with his autograph underneath..we then made a 3D frame with the blaster at the bottom, he was a really nice guy ..he said it was only because it was personified and to my son he would do it.
he didn't give any other crew members any autographs do I was ever so pleased , when my son opened it I was away on location so my wife videoed and sent the video to me , I showed him and he said that's why he loves his job . I think I was more pleased than my son.
it was on set for expendables 3 .he replaced Bruce Willis .

No problem I'll take a pic of it ..like I said really nice guy very unassuming..compared to the others he was just a regular guy.
i didn't know that he doesn't normally characterise.
Maybe because I got on well with him and it was for my boy ..
for some reason I've been trying to upload pics but having problems, ill probably send it to admin first for then to post.
