Original stormtrooper blaster prop

This reminds me of those "Hey, I bought/found a safe, but I don't have the combination" threads that I've seen before. (On another forum)

The thread will go 10 pages or more and everyone gets frustrated at the OP because no matter what he tries, he can't break into the safe.

Very weak. Where are the mods?

So far we have established you have a reassembled MR blaster and a cut down mag. You don't want to share your movie history because you don't feel like "proving" anything. You've been called out on obvious ridiculous statements and call those members "haters". You find it difficult to use proper spelling, punctuation and can't upload photos. You've made sideways insults to the entire commenting community.

You've grabbed all the wrong attention.

Whats next?

This may not be an example of it but a good grift always begins with the mark wanting to believe. Having access to a screen used Sterling mag... even one that has no spring or follower and hence is non-functioning... is too hard to ignore.

Sorry, it reminds you of that tale of "safe with no combination."
Apart from a veteran forum, last week was the first time ever I have registered to a forum about an interest/ work. My questions have been answered.
I'd like to be diplomatic about this,... I don't want to get in the safe.

Sounds good. Rarely seen him add a character name, would love to see a pic.

if your the liam i found on IMDb you have some pretty cool crew credits :cool
Hi Rob, the problem I have been asked to prove my credentials, which I have no problem at all with, I came on here to ask questions about a couple off items that I own, that I was told were screen used however I have been set straight on my claims.
But in the meantime I've subjected to a whole volley of not very pleasant comments..to the point I don't know if people are being genuine..or they just want pick holes in my work which I'm very passionate about, and that would just **** me off.

So rob if you are one of those genuine people, there are a lot of productions that I've worked on that are not on IMDB ..so if I can answer any questions about firearm props I'll do my best to answer it.If I don't know ill do my best to find out.
All the best

Ok. So you ( Cameron) last week you asked me " I would love to see what your films you've worked on " as the way the thread was going I sensed a touch of sarcasm! Your latest post confirms my point.
You call them Ridiculous claims, upto last week I thought they were authentic, I joined this forum to ask a few questions on a couple of my possessions to clarify more information on them and I was set straight.( ref mags and Rep Blaster)
Yes I would be the first to admit my English/ Irish - spelling & punctuation is terrible( mind you autocorrect is not helping at the moment). And I have to ask my kids how to do anything technical,so if it's easier for me to send a pic to admin to post than thats what I will do.
With Ref to upsetting members I've already apologised on more than one occasion. But being on here for just a week I've been called ..A TROLL, A LIAR, DISHONEST to name a few oh ! Yes this morning HOllywOOd this morning as a scammer/ fraudster. I'm not going to take all that abuse and not say anything not by anybody.

In my line of work I get asked all sorts of questions by people who truly believe what they are asking( and I promise you I work in a world of everyone's an expert).I am a professional when I answer people I'm not rude or discourteous.
But frankly I would be ashamed and embarrassed if a new member joined your group with a true belief in what he/she is asking and got treated in this way.
I thought this group was meant to informative and learning with people who are passionate about what they do.so you just poked fun and trying to discredit everything I said.
To you ( subject matter experts) it may be laughable and completely Ridiculous what my posts said, but I don't know any better that's why you ask the experts.
So you want me to put my IMDb link on here for you - so you can pick holes in my work and what I've done?.

What are your Credentials Cameron ? What makes you a subject matter expert ?? What have you done to be the expert that can answer my Ridiculous questions??
HOllywOOd ..so it has no follower or Spring !!! STFW what yes it's non functional mag it's a PROP That I THOUGHT was a screen prop and have been put stright on ( for the millionth time).get over it ! I have.
im sure members are really bored with this thread , but know I am.
sincere apologies to members who have sent me messages welcoming me to the group.

You're really not helping the situation. I was here to see if we were going to try and ID your collectibles or discuss production topics.... but that's obviously not going to happen. I'm wondering, mods , if this is the best place for this thread, or if it needs to be reigned in.

No,,, posting your IMDB would give some VALIDITY to YOUR claims about working with Bapty and on "70" films and put to rest everyones distrust of you from your earlier overstatements regarding owning serious pieces of movie history that could be worth large quantities of money.

Anyone can claim anything on here and many try. Lets be clear on something. You didn't ASK if your blaster was made of original parts. You CLAIMED it was. If you don't see a difference than maybe thats issue #1. When new members ask, they are informed with whatever information is at hand. When they CLAIM we smell a potential scam because it happens all the time in this hobby. We are a skeptical lot and thats the way it is.

Thousands of people are welcomed into this forum every year and are never challenged the way you were/are. Do you think maybe your the one that caused it?

Of course you don't.

Thd9791..
sorry but being implied that this whole thing is a scam or Fraud this morning wasn't impressed, I'd love to be able to use this group & make a few contacts and discuss questions and topics of something we have a passion for, I fear we keep going round n circles and every morning I'll get another notification of an email from a member on here with more unpleasant comments.
my items unfortunately Thd9791 have been identified the mag unfortunately can not be pinned down to screen use , & my blaster which seems to be a million to once chance MR Replica that was disassembled and left in box for a few years , so I am much more the wiser it took a bit of time ( my fault ) but at least I know.

In Merlin's defence.. On a huge number of productions you don't necessarily get a credit, especially if you were doing dailies, are an 'SA' or are subcontracted to a department where only the HOD gets credited. My girlfriend had been part of a fabrication team for years that was subcontracted to dozens of productions, meaning that only the guy running the company would be credited. The same would go for armourers. The guys who supplied weapons and did standby on the day would generally get a credit, however the guy back at the workshop gets left out. It's entirely at the production's discretion to award credits. Just because you worked on something doesn't mean you get your name up in lights. Ask the entire 100-odd man strong miniatures crew on 10000BC. Six people were credited. The rest got a full page thank you in Cinefex. I should know, I was one of them.

Ease up guys! Merlin1975 is legitimate. Folks have been reading way to much into his questions and statements because they've been burned by other newbies in the past.

He was ASKING if anyone knew if there was any way to prove that the clips were real, because he had been told that they were. There wasn't - and he's ok with that.
He was lead to believe that the blaster parts that he put together for his son were real. They weren't - and he was just showing it off like a lot of us do. He's NOT trying to sell it.

End the witch hunt!
