Since if I recall correctly, the Yahoo Group that exists actually started here then moved, I will post this here.

There is a Yahoo Group that was for the purpose of coming up it a design for a replica Mercury Space capsule. Scale to be determined.

That brought forth a set of blue prints from McDonell Douglas. Some were duplicates and some were split across two pages.

We ended up with what will be 16 complete blue print pages of details.

Some general configuration, some instrument placement, the escape tower and most importantly the profile and clocking of the stringers.

Through the generous donation of one member, the prints were scanned and are now made available for FREE.

    Enjoy.

    Mercury Blueprints

I plan on compositing the two page prints with Photoshop when I can get around to it.

If someone else beats me to it, be sure to speak up.

THANK YOU for posting these, micdavis! And many thanks to the anonymous member who made the scanned prints available.

Karl, as with all of your infographics, I very much enjoyed your John Glenn 50th anniversary tribute.

On a side note: You know, from a distance, the "Inside Gas Giant Saturn" graphic looks a bit like a thong-clad rump. Talk about yer gas giants! :lol

    Mike--

I looked through those blueprints and did not spot the cross-section of the corrugations. I have it if you guys need it.

I tried looking at these files and I get an error message. Are the files still posted? Am I doing something wrong?

They were probably only hosted for a short time, you're posting on a thread which is a few months old

When Apple went to the iCloud they left me high and dry on my web space. Nothing on it was super critical to my process, so I've been dragging my feet getting things rearranged.

Plus I am slowly backing out of the hobby and probably won't bother with new links for everything.

If you email me, I can shoot you the files somehow.

There are no remaining printed sets.

Sadly micdavis was banned last year. That's what the little tag 'banned' under his username means. If you put your email into your post then he might see it, if he's still checking this thread.

The Mercury Builders Group at Yahoo has the/a set of 24 blueprints available for download for members.
If combined they are the set he was offering it seems.
    Here is an example.

Thanks guys, i do underestand. but this is a phone that is used for things like this. so there is no problem. I have been trying for 9 months to find the plans and if publishing a phone number will do the trick, and it has. then i am ok with it.

I think these are "Little Joe" capsules. Many years ago I had a Little Joe II scratch build on my workbench, but I went off to college and it got stuck in a box and after that it wasn't pretty.
