Have not read Fables yet, but had no idea that ABC had picked up rights for the comic series. I doubt we will see a Fables TV series adaptation now.

Fables is a great, simple idea, executed brilliantly.

pretty disappointing that the franchise won't be rewarded with a television adaptation (and if they ever do, will have to fight comparisons with this show)

But hey, if Once Upon a Time actually is done with a little intelligence and creativity, they should have no problem making the idea their own.
Or it could be "what fairy tale shall we exploit mindlessly this week?"
