Oh Man - Maurice Sendak

"The wild things roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth
and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws,
but Max stepped into his private boat and waved goodbye.”

Goodbye Maurice. Rest in peace.

I know Sendak praised Jonze on the film, but I suspect he was just being polite, because the film violated the core essence of Sendak's marvelous book.

The Wook

All I know is I didn't care for it which is unfortunate, but not altogether unexpected. I think it was just overly ambitious to do a 90 minute movie out of a 20ish page picture book.

I had to google who he was. I remember the librarian reading this book to us in first grade in elementary school. He wrote so many other things yet this one caught everyone's imaginations. There is one more of his coming out next year that he won't get to see sadly.

"Where The Wild Things Are",was one of my favorite children's books of all time....Rest in Peace Maurice. “But the wild things cried,
'Oh please don’t go – we’ll eat you up – we love you so!'
And Max said, 'No!'
The wild things roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth
and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws,
but Max stepped into his private boat and waved goodbye.”
