Officially Licensed TRON LEGACY - RINZLER, Sam & TRON Movie Replica Suits.

Re: Officially Licensed TRON LEGACY - Movie Replica Suits. UPDATED Video Posted 6/25

So will you be offering full illuminated suits or just an illuminated jacket?

It's amazing how that reflective material really jumps out at you in the photos!

So far only the male jacket (Sam character) is in the works with the full lights. The truth is it's turning out to be a real nightmare getting it all to work. From a technical stand point and assembly of final goods it may just be too much to handle for a full on production. Simply put, for now we're working on it and believe me...I more than anyone want to see it work but only if I can guarantee it will work on quantity production.

If one jacket, the prototype no less....is a nightmare to get connected and assembled then just imagine 1,000 of them. Again, only if I can guarantee the results to the end client, otherwise we'll have to eliminate this option.

Here's a look at a few lamps powered. It does looks crazy cool...but it's also crazy complex to assemble so I just don't know yet....

Seriously cool pics at the convention!

Couple more annoying questions for you. :)

Is that octagonal fabric at the shoulder/underarms the same
style as the film suits?

Some of the promo pics make it look more like a textile mesh
like what Joe Rocket makes their summer jackets from.

Does the octagonal fabric breath?

Is the disk on the back intergrated with the jacket?

Great pics at the con too! Really made me wish I was there! :)

Cool and no problem!

Yes with the difference that we manufacture it.

No, it's a custom design with octagon shapes. That's the basis of the Tron world.

Does the octagonal fabric breath?
Yes, and amazingly so! It's a heavy duty 4 way stretch spandex with a silicone 3D print. Very neat-o stuff! Again custom made by us. :)

The model in the Disney booth said that he didn't even break a sweat in the jacket...his legs did get hot though but consider he was in the convention hall every day from 9-5:30. The female model said it was the most comfortable leather suit she's ever worn and never once even broke a sweat...even when she was wearing the wig.:thumbsup

Is the disk on the back intergrated with the jacket?
No, it's not removable and part of either jacket...Sam and Quorra. It's a motorcycle suit so we can't have it falling off the rider...but they're both pretty bang on replicas of the movie suits and would definitely double as high end costumes, but they are biker suits.

Great pics at the con too! Really made me wish I was there! :)

Hi David, I kinda met you briefly at SDCC I was in my Silk Spectre II Watchmen costume, the one in my avatar here. Just wanted to tell you congrats your suits are amazing and I can imagine what hard work this must have been for you to produce these let alone having to make a mass quantity to sell to the general public.

Congrats on your success and I wish you continued luck and progress on your TL suits!

Just a quick tease for what's to come....:cool

The suits photographed are produced with incredibly light sensitive reflective detailing. Not reflective fabric...but a specific leather finish that is further outlined in black silicone for hard-crisp shapes, and over all movie accurate detailing.

Coming Very Soon!

Re: Officially Licensed TRON LEGACY - Movie Replica Suits. UPDATED Video Posted 6/25

This weekend we had The Fan Expo here in Toronto and it was great seeing fellow RPF'ers attending, and a big thanks to all who stopped by!

Our Tron Legacy suits were on hand and being worn by our 'Official' UD Model Mike in the Sam suit, and the lovely Liana K. in the Quorra suit.

The suits shown here are done with light sensitive-reflective finished leather. The show floor was extremely well lit but you can still see how the white details were set off by the camera flashes. This in a bright environment, just imagine in a darker room or after sunset. :)

We also had the Sam Tron Legacy jacket on display in the Tron booth...with working lights. :) Here's a short video showing the lights flickering and you can see the lights really well in the reflection on the back wall...sorry that it's rotated.:lol
The inverters powering the 100 square inches of light have different settings...from 'always on' to different flickering speeds. I had it flickering because that way the battery charge would easily last 10+ hours. With the lights always on, the charge is 5 hours. Still a good amount of time, but the show days were longer than 5 hours....:$

Now...about this light up jacket...:love
This is STILL THE PROTOTYPE! It's no where near being done. It's a fantastic garment with incredible potential but once we have a final prototype that I'm fully satisfied with, then and only then will further details be made available.
We want to see this hit the market ASAP, however the added complexities associated to the introduction of these lamps needs to first be dealt with... most importantly from a production stand point. Once we're ready we'll update this accordingly. :thumbsup

More to come!

As a child I dream... of spending the money that is burning a hole in my pocket waiting for the UD replicas Tron suit!! Looks top notch David. Can't wait!!

Re: Officially Licensed TRON LEGACY - Movie Replica Suits. UPDATED 8/30

Yeah yeah, the suits look great....but the real question is, "where'd she get the POWER SWORD!" I'll take one of each.

Any chance of making a non-motorcycle rubber/silicone version for the vegetarians out there?

As I understand it, that would be an actual replica, and fall outside the bounds of their licence, which only includes leather motorcycle wear.

That's partially true. I say partially because while we are making 'movie replicas' our product classification is Motorcycle Outerwear...so in short our Tron Legacy goods are 'Movie Replica Motorcycle Suits'.

I would guess that Rubber suits fall into the Costume category.

As for the sword, I wasn't at the show personally so I have no idea. I'd guess it belonged to an attendee because it's not our work. :)
