Official V3 Nike MAG Replica Thread - V3 Discussion Thread

I already got into the sole and removed the battery, I'm a very handy person. so don't worry about how hard it is for the normal person lol. i already removed the back strap hub that holds the charging port and removed the side el panel. took me 15mins i just want to make sure i use the right parts, so i need help in sourcing them.

the battery is a regular 3.7 1000mah
the strap lights dont fail
for the ankle lights you could add some 120 mah resistors to make them more accurate

also
someone should purchase this and put a mini delorean over it

Battery upgrading and strap upgrading are a lot more work than what is necessary. I don't think anyone on here was upgraded their straps, and they only replaced the battery if absolutely needed
Here is a video on replacing the EL

Damn straight. When I pulled apart my straps, I could not believe how strong the glue they have used was. Won't be doing that again.

ok, i get that its a normal 1000mah, but can it be upgraded? whats the strongest? and for the el lights, which ones do I get ? and from where?

just looked up 120 mah resistors and there is no such thing, and the lights the I need to replace are the El Lights in the sole, not the red green and yellow lights in the ankle

Search eBay.

You need cyan EL panel. However, these change colour based on frequency. So you might want to find panel more green than blue.

If you want the batteries to last longer, consider ditching the LEDs and replacing those with EL + filters.

For anyone curious about their V3 soles going yellow, I put some bleach onto a patch of the clear, was just curious to see if it would do anything, unfortunately no effect whatsoever. Guess our only options are dye and eventually replace. But don't feel too bad about it, I saw a video where someone was comparing friends and family edition and the regular edition (supposedly real ones) and the friends and family pair had their clear soles become discoloured too.

I have explained this many times in the past. When rubbers oxidizes, it is not like rust on steel where it attacks the surface first and works its way in. It is more like aluminium where it goes right through the cross section. Rust can be cut of steel and replaced with more steel. Aluminium has to be discarded, melted down to start again.

For those that tore down V2s, you would have noticed that greenie colour the grey mid-soles were turning actually went right though the rubber. And so this has nothing to really do with the parts being clear. The fact is, non UV stable products were used and this the end result.

What about no sun exposure? Doesn't matter. At some point, the parts were/will be exposed and even artificial lights like Fluro and LEDs emit UV.

you would have to install it inside the soles
dont know how the resistence is tho

While chatting with one of the inside people at Sneakerahead.ru on whatsapp they directed me to one of their Sneakerahead.ru Instagrams which is "soulssneaker" here I found two videos on their autolace progress...View attachment 752127

They also quoted me 1400$...I'll purchase once they release & do a review!

Can you confirm that they were really from Sneakerahead.ru? Also, this is showing a left AND right shoe, so that's good news
Wait..... The laces look like they're controlled by one button for both tightening and loosening

So let's hope that the tension sensor works.

I've done some digging around. Yes, this is official from David. We can expect a release in 10 to 15 days. There will be 3 pairs given away on Reddit. And they're only making 300 pairs. All sizes ready in 15 days. (I've subtracted 5 days from the count cause the posts are 5 days old). I hope the 300 pairs mean 300 for this batch. It'll suck for us that have to save up that 1400$, only for them to all be sold. Hoping he makes them in size 13, and that I win a Reddit pair :) . But that's just wishful thinking

Update: Quote from David "Only 300 pairs :) "
