What´s a "ported" barrel? Are you referring to the holes?...it´s a deac, don´t have the license to own a real gun

I was goofing with ya :p. I knew it had to be way of deac, but I've not seen that type of deactivating before.
But, a ported barrel is a type of muzzle break & helps with recoil.

My brother had a .44 Magnum revolver with a ported barrel. That thing was literally a blast to shoot.

Had the chance to squeeze in some time in my workshop over the last few days...here are the "results"

Received the new, lighter wood shoulder stock for my Jawa blaster...shaped, stained and installed it.
Now I am calling it done :)

Started adding the greeblies to my new Bespin blaster...here´s how it looks atm.
Still waiting for the other greeblies (SLA prints) to arrive.

Also took the chance to sort through my Sterling box with the intention to determine which SMG I am going to use for my new fully dressed "post-production" ANH E11 as well as my revised stunt ANH E11...I think I narrowed it down.

The second from the left will be used for my post-production E11

The right one will be used as the base for my new stunt ANH E11.
A bit hesitant to start cutting it down...

Markus, there are no words... MY GOD, so many Sterlings!!!

Also, PM of photos inbound.

Brauchen? Willst denn etwas gehen lassen?

Same as usual...it almost brings tears in my eyes to see your amazing collection plus your skills and craftsmanship, Markus!

Made the first steps with my new stunt ANh E11...it was nerve wrecking to make this cut, but it worked out in the end.

Learned the hard way that oven cleaner takes the finish off a L2A3. Originally I just wanted to degrease it for the build. Now most of the heavily worn crackle finish I wanted to keep for this build is REMOVED *AAAARGH!!!!*...pics show the Sterling before treating it with oven cleaner :(

augh I'm sorry! It's a beautifully clean cut though. Maybe this means you have a clean slate to create your own finish from scratch? Trying to reframe it for ya, I know the feeling of irreversible mistakes very well

I learned the hard way to check ANY cleaner on a spot where it won't matter...

Yes, leasson learned :(

I checked a lot of reference pictures and found many varying conditions of the remaining crinkle finish on the stunt E11´s.
The L2A3 I picked for this project had a very nice patina and speckled remains of the original finish...just like I wanted my blaster to look like.

Now it´s mainly a matte steel tube with hardly any original coating left :cry
Anyway...I´ll have to deal with it now, since I surely won´t cut up another Sterling just to correct this mistake

I'm sure you can get some semblance of the original finish back with some of that VHT wrinkle paint.

I do feel your pain, though!!

Can't wait to see this one progress!

There was just a thread a few days back that had an update with a pretty good spray can crinkle finish. I can't remember the name, but it had "Sterling" or "Stormtrooper" rifle in it. Mine was just painted flat black so I may try to redo it if I can make it look correct.
