Nylon Bullwhip tutorial-pic intense

Here's a late shot of Christmas presents made using this tutorial - the tan and green ones went to the girls, Kyle got the blue one, Galen got the black one and I am keeping the brown one. Sell them? Not a chance!

Has this tutorial gone now that rapidshare has closed it's standard accounts as of the first of July? I was looking for another tutorial to try after trying one I found on instructables ( Paracord Bullwhip ) which is not bad but I'm sure there are better tutorials out there! Any chance it could be re-hosted elsewhere?

HERE is a new link for the BullWhipCracker tutorial.

Please do not share ^this^ link outside the RPF. I don't want to run out of bandwidth straightaway, & I'm not sure how robust this host is yet.

Enjizzle, dizzles.

I used BullWhipCracker's excellent tutorial supplemented with the rather long, but also helpful video - How to Make a Paracord Bullwhip - a full length tutorial by Nick Schrader - YouTube . Just be sure to check the plaiting as you go along, especially the back of the whip. You don't want to find a dropped plait after you finish :cry,

I take an evening to cut the cord to lengths and strip the inner cords, prepare the spike (handle); load the core with beaded core; and attach the core to the handle. The next night, plait the first belly. The third night, plait the overlay. It takes less time than I expected. I've been making crackers out of the inner strands (waste not....). The most recent experiment was a black whip with a red handle (like Indy's "circus whip" from the Last Crusade). Instead of beaded cord, I filled the core strands with lead shot from a couple of shotgun shells that I came across in the woods. It feels different - heavier - but sure cracks loudly. Eight so far - all family gifts.

Thank-you very much.

Sorry about the slow response - I'm new to rpf and assumed I would get a notification email if there was a response to the thread. Once again life tells me not to make assumptions!
