Started a scratch build Norway class.
First attempt on the main hull:

It's out off cardboard with covered with resin for enforcement. I wanted to use as a mold for vacuum forming…

But after I get my hands on a 3D printer (Ender 3) I changed my mind and decided to do the basic shapes with my new machine.
The 3D Model done in Cinema4D based on pictures of Eaglemoss Norway Renderings:

The parts that will be printed:

They will be detailed in old fashioned way. Also the flat parts like the underside of the hull and pylons will be scratched out of PS sheets.

More pics soon…

Fascinating! I remember all the hullabaloo over the new ships when First Contact came out. I don't think I've ever seen anyone scratch-build one.

I just wondered if spaceships will be actually 3D printed in the future... thinking of the 'space dock' in the movies, looks kinda like a printer frame...
Oh, yes. And great job on your build! Appreciate you sharing.
Regards, Robert

And all the paint job before all the parts come together…
I changed my mind on the turquoise colour and make a dark blue instead. It match a lot better into the colour scheme now.

I've never quite decided whether I like the design of the Norway or not - some days I do, others, not so much - but you're doing a fantastic job making it from scratch.
