Noland Suit Wip, --Suit Up Pics---- 95% Done!

You have inspired me good sir. First Mr.Giggles, now Noland, this is the kind of motivation a newbie like me needs. Omega props to you :) :(

Ok just a small update,
it may be hard to see in the pics, but i frayed up all the edges of the shirt. cut off the sleeves appropriately, and added the leather the sleeve edges.
just ordered the pants. now i need to finnish up giggles so i can start sculpting the chest armour.

oh yeah, and i am now using the Termokk P1 Noland helmet....

Awesome work so far Daman, it's really coming along nicely. I still can't get over the gun and how accurate it looks. Hard to believe it started it's life out as a nerf gun.

AWESOME job so far, Daman! Damn, brother, this costume is gonna be the shiz. One thing: while watching the video of the computer gaunt, it appears that the LED light is bleeding out from underneath. Does it do that in the movie and I just didn't notice? I realize it's a small nitpick, but IMHO it will make the gaunt that much better. And I agree with Doug, that gun is not only the ****, but is very inspiring for the rest of us. Great job!

yeah i know. i have since put a piece of leather around the lid to block the light. i could probably do a little more to completely block but i think it is pretty good.

thanks for the kudos everyone!

Actually, if you put foil on it first, that will DEFINITELY block the light. Just seal the seams. Even electrical tape may work. No need to get fancy shmancy...

haha, i was waaaaay overthinking on how i could put something in there to block it. sometimes that's an issue for me. the more advanced techniques i learn, the more basic stuff i forget.

Yeah, I can totally relate, but really, who the hell is EVER going to see it. Unless you go to sell it, it doesn't really matter. Plenty of cheap options for hidden requirements, IMHO...

small update.

i got some lasers from Casey. i wanted to still be able to separate the helmet from the gauntlet but be able to control the lasers from the gaunt.
i had Casey wire up lasers with enough wire to reach the gauntlet. but i needed a way to disconnect it half way.
so i took an old audio cord and spliced it into the wire and voila- i have a disconnect point.
the two 9 volts (one for the gauntlet lights and one for the lasers) fit very nicely in the leather pouch i made.

next step is to sculpt the chest armour.

Sweet use of the audio connectors; quite resourceful, simple, and a cheap solution. Gotta love those. Really enjoying the progress on this bad boy...

Now, *cough, cough*, how's that Giggles pull coming

on to the next piece.

just blocking it out. getting the overall shape. once im happy i'll start with the design.
i was going to do it in latex. but it would be cool to be hard like in the movie.
IDK, what do you guys think?
