He'll be along. He might be in the middle of a power cut. The power network out there is overburdened and they have frequent blackouts.

Re: Nike McFly's - It's About Time - VIDEO!

Short hi from chris.jones,
I am a long time "spy" in this Forum and now is the time to get active on this topic. Yesterday there was the prestation of the Nike Mag in Berlin. I was one of the invited people to see them first and had the honor to talk to the people from Nike. They told me: There will by definitly a realese for the public in 2015. They are releasing the shoe now because this was a wish from Michael J Fox and Universal who wanted to rase money for the MJF Foundation as long as Mr. Fox is able to do so. So what we see here is the actual result of the manuafcturing process. I don't know how much i can give on that statement but it sounds on one hand very true but on the other also very sad because of the health of my childhood hero. After this words I noticed again that there are more importand things in life then owning the nike mag and now i hope the plan of nike and MJF will work well.

sorry for my poor english I am working on it.

Re: Nike McFly's - It's About Time - VIDEO!

This was like day 6 of 10. Should be another 4 days of auctions. Another 600 pairs to sell.

Re: Nike McFly's - It's About Time - VIDEO!

Just got the dimensions of a size 7 Mag 2011. Just as I thought: They seem to be the way to go if you want a 1:1 replica. The dimensions seem to match perfectly. Will try to get a pair myself...

But how big of a difference in the size of the sole will there be between 7 and 8?

Re: Nike McFly's - It's About Time - VIDEO!

Quick Question it states that the internal battery life is only good for 3000 hours? So when the 3000 hours is up they won't light anymore? I'm confused

If it's EL tape it only has a lighting life of 3000 hours.

So if you left them lit up at ALL times they would only stay lit for 125 days.

EL tape has a short life span, so only light em up for friends and conventions.

And from my understanding EL tape doesn't have a high lumens count, so it would only make sense to show them off in the dark.

Battery life should just be fine, I would imagine they went with litium ion which will definitely outlast the lights.

I guess maybe half of an inch? but like I said: The originals were "max" a size 7. Maybe even smaller? Maybe size 7 and 8 of the 2011 Mag share the same sole? Who knows...Until we have them in our hands it's just guessing. But remember that these were custom made for MJF and didn't have to fit into any size-standards.

A US size 7 shoe normally means that your feet are about 9.7 inches long. The sole of the original shoes were just about 10 inches.

Yeah, just pick and choose your times to light them up wisely and you will be fine.

Well, and since most of you guys are pros, I am sure you can figure out how to replace them all.

In fact, once the people that don't know that wear out their lights, maybe you can buy them from them for cheap.

"Hell, it's going to cost $1000 just to replace those lights, I'll give you $20 for those shoes."

And that's all she wrote!

Re: Nike McFly's - It's About Time - VIDEO!

Usually between two shoes with a full size difference its no more than one full inch bigger/smaller (if that), i measured my 10.5 Nike af1's to a sz 11.5 and its less than half an inch smaller. Half an inch give or take

If the shoe charge is 4 hrs it should have a 750 wear (full 4 hrs lights on consecutively) or if its a 5 hr charge it should be around 600 wears/charges. 3000 with lights on all the time til they start to give out, thats a good 2 years maybe?

Re: Nike McFly's - It's About Time - VIDEO!

Thanks Sarni.

I think I have come to a decision NOT to get these shoes. Since I have a good feeling one of three things will happen:

1) Asian Knockoffs
2) These will be released in 2015
3) Someone, at some time will need money and dump these for under $2k

This has been a tough decision but since I am one not to jump and buy the newest release of something.

Congrats to you guys that got these. :thumbsup

Re: Nike McFly's - It's About Time - VIDEO!

how are some of us that have the mark poon version going to explain ourselves? most people dont know the eact details of the shoes so they will assume you have the Ebay MJF pair.

Re: Nike McFly's - It's About Time - VIDEO!

Sorry guys, I had to urgently travel back to my hometown today, won't be back until Sunday night. TxBabyHuey let me know if you can catch up from day 6 onwards with the Nike auction totals. I had added day 6 in watch list yesterday, but didn't get to count them last night.

Don't think more people want the analysis, but I definitely wanted to keep up with it for official records purposes for all 10 days. TxBabyHuey if you can do it, that will be great.

Re: Nike McFly's - It's About Time - VIDEO!

I'm also recording all of the auction final details, so let me know if you miss anything and I can help fill in the blanks...

I'll make the spreadsheet available when it's all finished as well if anyone wants it.

Thanks Sarni.

Unless they come up forsale really cheap, keep in mind that only buying them now can you write them off as a tax-deductible charity donation. That alone makes it worth it to me to attempt to get a pair (but I don't see paying much more than $2k myself, so it probably won't happen)...

Something to think about. You aren't _buying_ them, you are donating to charity and receiving them as a gift. I don't think you can deduct 100% of what you spend, but you should be able to claim most of the cost against taxes... (Obviously- seek the guidance of your CPA/tax attorney on this.)
