Cool, hope the EL keeps working while you are at Supanova.
Is this (modding the wear pair) just a first trial before you mod a fresh pair to the max?

They should last longer than the LEDs I ran last year given I used heat shrink and even doubled on some joins. My joins were just crap last year compared to how I have been doing these and the last pair of shoes.
The joins that could not be insulated with heat shrink have least 2 layers of electrical tape. I found the best way to insulate the EL sheet terminals was a lay the tape from the edge of the sheet, be sure the wires are separated and then lay a 2nd piece of tape directly over that, pressing in between to make a good seal.

If you intend to power the soles and the strap off the one circuit (and you really should), you will want to up the voltage and get a bigger inverter. Those small 3V inverters are OK, but they can give you trouble. I have 6 here that won't light a section of EL much less a full sheet.
The decal kit looks like the kit from Mark Poon (who is is a member here) and I think that strap kit is his too.

There is probably no point then. Both the V2 MAG and Decal MAG are the same size which is about 20mm or 3/4" tall. The real MAG letters are 25mm or 1" tall and only the ones I make are full size, but I am not selling those yet until I get the revised mold from the machinist. And who knows when that will be.

So did I until someone with both V2 and HC bought the decal kit and placed the two shoe side by side.

While I'm waiting for the elusive V3 Mag to become available (by the sounds of things we might be waiting quite a while) I decided to mod my one and only pair and give the toe mod a go. Can I just say that this was the scariest thing I have ever done! Attacking them with a f--king butter knife felt so wrong and I honestly nearly bottled it and glued them back together a few times. Very stressful, but a few tantrums and sweats later, I have them completed, All in, they took me about 5 hours in total for both shoes. Pretty happy with the end result and having them look a bit closer to the originals. Still not prefect and could be a bit neater and I've learned a lot for the next pair I mod (if I ever have the balls to attempt another pair!)
I ended up using standard super glue and tried to be super careful not to let it run over and touch the grey material. I would like to get my hands on some shoe goo but it's proving difficult to get it in Ireland.
Anyway, let me know what you all think of the moded Mags!
