Totally agree with you. He confirmed one fact that the power-laces will be available & all I have seen is multiple articles stating that the Nike Mags are coming back with this feature.
Considering everyone thinks of the Mag when power-laces are mentioned, you'd hope that Nike would keep this in mind when creating the sneakers however it wouldn't surprise me if the Mags returned in a slightly different form to what we know.
When I registered my Mags I was prompted with this, so I'm guessing something BTTF related is happening in 2015...View attachment 287713

I was checking the patents they filed. They filed 2 different patents, 1 was for just the lighting system, and another for the auto lace system.

Their latest patent, filed in 2011 and published september 2013 is a combination of both the lighting and auto lace system.

Here is the patent for their auto lace system filed in 2008 and published 2011.

https://www.google.com/patents/US80...&sa=X&ei=OowIU4GIAe2v7AaT0YEw&ved=0CDoQ6AEwAQ

You can clearly see how they are doing the strap and auto lacing mechanism. The strap seems to wind up down and it has two servos inside the soles, and a custom circuit all tied to the electronics.

So its safe to say they are replicating the movie auto lace function almost dead on. So you put your foot in, press on the sensor, the strap tightens and all the lights turn on, then lastly the lace area is tightened.

So I don't think you will see any need for the velcro attachment on the strap, it looks like the strap will be permanently attached and just loosen enough to put your foot in (Although I may be wrong).

It looks like they have gone with a sensor, and maybe a push button for release.

If the 2011 release went for an average of $5000 upwards, these surely are going to be even limited in quantity given the complexity in their design and manufacture process.

airair thanks for sharing that:)
im so happy that there doing the strap i thought they were just doing the laces bravo
i hope i sell my invetion in time to buy a pair lol
but i may attempt to make a pair with these plans you found thanks again

Just bought my air mags tonight ! for around 253 shipped
200 on the site then western union/shipping fees so im happy. Most sites wanted anywhere from 260-290.

I plan on modding these every single possible way i cant wait to see the finished result. I want to try an mod the triable cut out on the top of the shoe where it looks real thin and not thick with cushion like the real deal. Also want to try to add blue tint to the rubber on the sole

You can't modify any of the grey upper part. It's stitched directly to the grey fabric. The only thing you can do is add a switch in the white puffy collars.

Hi guys, very inspired by all of this. I have ordered mine from karen this morning and i hope it will be confirmed for delivery soon. Been reading a lot this past week and I can say I've learned a lot. I have no experience in electronics but I might find help from people who do and the parts like EL panels I'm not even sure if we have it here locally. Being in the Philippines I don't think(haven't seen any) anyone has modded a pair of v2's. I have had experience with shoe restorations before (also soleswapping 1985 jordan 1s with fresh new soles) I'm going to try a different method of removing the soles easily and if it works I hope I may be able to share it with you. Cheers! :)

You are not supposed to remove any of the soles on the replicas, just open up the clear soles part to place the EL panels.

The only thing you need to do is use a hairdryer to open up the clear soles from the sides. Other than a hairdryer or heat gun, not sure what else could be used.

Hey Guys, anyone know where I can find the specs for the EL Sole? and How to Print the Nike Logos best and to correct size? I'm a Size 13 if anyone else is. Im currently reading back and about up to Page 35 again but if anyone knows that would be really cool!

Thanks as always guys!

i have to say every shoe is different,, one shoe the sole came off like butter the other one ,hell of a time no matter how much heat, it would not give i had to cut the gray ruber to get it opend then dremal the grey off the clear it came out good though patience and time patientce and time lol

That sounds alllll too familiar! :) Yup, patience and caution are key, and as long as you don't mark up the 2 EL "bubble zones" then they'll turn out fine.

Yup, sorry my bad I meant only separating the parts of the soles. As I find heat to be too 'invasive' especially on sneakers having an upper made of fabric. (Also I'm not too sure but it might be also the reason why some soles get yellow prematurely) Will have to wait for my pair to try it out first before I go into detail. : )

Do any of you guy's know how or if i can do the rechargeable 9v battery setup but instead of using the adapter that they come with if somehow i can set it up so i can recharge the 9v battery with a mini or micro USB setup. Thanks for any help or advice anyone can offer

or any mini or micro USB set up that can be used.
