Awww. Lol I figured you did. :) How's your mod going Mitas?

I haven't started yet. I'm ordering the shoes this Friday and the materials i ordered should arrive around when I get the shoes. Right now I only have some charging jacks and the LEDs.

Decided to mod some more tonight, for some reason im liking the presentation side of my built items at the moment, so knocked this up, still not finished but nearly there, aspects of the delorean for a base.

Just awaiting some el wire, finishing on the flux band, and a nice perspex case

That is a very cool display Who45. I would leave it as-is. I think the EL wire will detract from the shoes.

Yes that shoe display is Awesome Who45!! I'm jealous!!

Well today I learned not to buy EL Sheets from different vendors. I was putting a shoe together today and noticed that the sole lights and straps lights were a different color. Both looked perfectly white when off, but turned on, the strap light is blue while the sole light is aqua. I have a picture here, but I don't think you can tell the difference.

Well, all lights are now the same color and I'm saving the aqua panel for scraps. Which reminds me! I wanted to know what you guys are doing with your left over EL sheet scraps? What cool things have ya'll been making with them? I was thinking maybe some neat accessory to go with the shoes.

Who45 that display is awesome, good job dude!

Can i ask what finishing glue you used for the toe box? it looks really clean and just like the way they came from china :)

Here's a trick I discovered for passing wires between the lining of the shoe. Use a long screw driver and make a tunnel within the fabric. Then slide a straw into the tunnel. With the straw in place, you can now pass wires without any problem.

These are the new wires hanging out the back. One wire for lighting the strap and one for recharging the battery.

Here's a top view. The majority of the wires are hidden within the shoe lining. Only a tiny fraction are visible.

The tongue is storing the 9 volt battery, 9 volt inverter, Judco on/off swtich, 2 way snap connectors and wires. This is how full it looks like when filled with that loom I made.

I haven't done any glueing yet, but here's the full profile.

I attempted to put the loom in the sole, but with all the connectors and wires, it just wasn't going to work. So here's an alternative for you guys who are having a hard time taming the wires.

Very nice. Was that charging port in your pictures a few posts back showing your wiring loom all lit up? Could you show a picture showing how it connects to the battery? What did you order for the connectors in the above picture?
Thanks!

The whole shoe used the loctite flexible gel as im sure you know, i glued the deepest part of the toe area which left a gap, i then went in a bit higher until the gap was alot less visible...........

Now i was unable to get what brad used to bead his shoe so i opted for shoe goo. This stuff is quite thick and i did the fine finishing line via a hyperdermic syinge.

Hobbycraft do sell a fine tip needle bottle but it has no metal nedle, its a plastic one you cut down, also i did almost fill an empty humbrol glue bottle with the goo but i was unable to get a controllable squeeze from it ...... The plastic ones in hobbycraft are silicone which will wok perfectly, there around 2 pounds for 8 small bottles

The shoe goo dried in around 10 mins as it was a thick goo, there is also no risk of bleed into the shoe material, its a gel like substamce, i did two inches of bead at a time and held it with clamps. Vey strong bond and it hasnt ripped or torn

Hi
Can someone let me know what's the name of the loctite shogoo type glue used for going around the edges of the shoes?
Is it the same thickness as shogoo or thinner?
Thanks
