Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds
Don't know if you could rate the light output of EL in watts, but if you did, watts = volts x amps or 3.7V x 1.8A = 6.66W and 9V x 0.565A = 5.08W, so about the same give or take. Maybe a side by side comparison would show one slight brighter.
I just think the 9V solution will be easier for those wanting a change out system instead of a hard wired rechargeable one.
not really to be honest
once you've opened these v2 shoes, there is virtually no space in that square hole in the sole to place a 9v battery let alone an inverter in there also.
You have to do some extensive drilling and cutting out to make a standard 9v battery fit, and further cutting to fit even a thin inverter.
I assumed everyone else had just easily placed the 9v inverter in and that it was a straight fit with enough space, yet nobody mentioned that they had cut out further the open space inside the sole.
For me, i'm not going to chop down into those soles whatsoever as the soles are already very thn as they are and any further cutting may weaken them. I'm simply going to place a battery/inverter setup that fits in that square hole.
So either way, whoever opens their shoes, its not an easy or straight forward fit for a 9v.
In fact, the 3v solution is easier, as the battery is likely to be flat!
anyways, im off to get some batteries of varying sizes and shapes, and to do some tests in how long they can last with a 3v inverter.
Ive thrown out the 9v solution, its not viable for me, especially on multiple pairs.
And after the ballache of opening these shoes apart, i cannot be bothered to cut into the soles!
