Here are my MAG's with cavx clear soles, we are working on using an EL sheet to mimic the LED's so we don't have to use them.

Whoa! Its taken me over a week to read through all 296 pages! In that time I've ordered the V2's, saved a hundred pics, links and diagrams and and bought all the stuff required for the mods which should arrive in the next few days. Some very helpful stuff here so thanks to all. I must say Jedifyfe's conversions has to be the cleanest of all. Cavx's constant determination to push the boundaries is somewhat next level.
Can't wait to try and make the perfect pair. Being a fashion designer by trade, I think i should have enough skill to re-construct a new upper identical to the RD's so stay tuned!
Thanks.

Hi, Do any of you know if this is a sport or if it has nike sign because it almost absolutely looks like the nike sign has been photoshopped off. Anyways, This looks like a good mag and is 40 dollars cheaper than normal (200 dollars) because it is 160 dollars. My main problem is I want nike sign and I don't want to be ripped off and the good price tag seems a little sketchy but the fact that it doesn't come with a box is probably why. Thanks and have a great day. Here's the link in case your interested in the amazing price:

The seller seems to be legit, they also sent me a pic of the shoes. I'll be placing an order sometime this week

And extend battery life out to maybe 20 hours.

Right now, I only have EL in the straps running off 2x AAA (3V). One of my shoes was turned on (or left on?) and when I found it, was still lit up, though way dimmer than the other shoe. I worked out it had been on for over 24 hours so a 9V running the entire shoe should be pretty long lasting.

By the time I get EL in the soles, I will be running off 9V.

Thanks.

Do you have the RD patterns? If not, PM me with an email address and I am happy to send them to you.

Cavx, the clear soles are really really awesome! I would wanna find out more about them but there are too many pages to flip through. Do you think you could direct me to the page number for your process if it is not too much trouble. Thanks!

Thanks cavx, I am actually inspired by your build. Can I check if you are still selling the clear soles for the mag?

Yes I am still making and selling clear soles and will do so for as long as MAG fever runs.

I have sent you a PM with the link.

Basically, I have a found a UV stable clear polyurethane with a shore of A65. I have also found a variable shore elastomer, but I need to test that products UV stability.
I have a vacuum chamber that pulls a full negative atmosphere and have learned how to mix, degas and pour bubble free now. It has taken time and a lot of money, but it has been a fun road to travel.

You can't make these without the vacuum chamber.

Both cups have the same amount of product. The cup on the left was mixed and left to to cure. The cup on the right was mixed, degassed and then left to cure. Big difference.

Once the rubber is degassed, it is poured and then after the parts are trimmed, you should parts that look like these.

Cavx, thanks for the reply! Yes I saw the progress and all for the soles and it is really close to the original. I am currently thinking about it. It happens that I do have access to a vacuum chamber but unlikely to make them after looking through all the tedious tests you went through. Definitely something I can learn from. Thank you

Hi all - This thread has been so helpful over the last few weeks that I thought it only fair to stop lurking and start sharing myself!

I started off with HC Mags and that very quickly moved to me realising that I needed to work on some V2s to really get the best result! I haven't done any soldering or craft work in a long time and it's been real fun so far getting my hand dirty with this Mags project!

I need to say a big thanks to you all for sharing so much. It's made my life a lot easier - and I'll definitely be sharing my ongoing efforts!

So - here's where I'm at so far - one Mag almost there! Judco switch is in the mail. Time to move onto the next one!

I think that I'll need to go back and tweak the EL at some point - but not too bad for a first effort! I may also re-visit the LEDs, as they look ok to the human eye, but don't look too bright on a photo. They could do with being a tad brighter also!

Not only do I degas the rubber for the soles, I also degassed the silicon I used to make the molds as well.

EL looks good. 3V or 9V. Maybe a smaller resister on the LEDs?

Running 9V system with 12v LEDs. I did a test run without resistors and they lit up fine, so I didn't end up using any in the end. I may have to do some trial runs with different LEDs to see what works best.

It is currently using an off the shelf 9V battery. I just had some 300mAH batteries arrive at work today - so I will see if they make a difference. Although my understanding is that mAh should affect longevity of power and not LED brightness.

Can I have one? You should definitely post your items on the junkyard by the way. If I have to wait until you put your kit up on eBay again, just try to remember to PM me with the link in like a week. Thanks a lot.
