And besides, whilst impressive, i find this video more impressive, and it was done years before! and mimics exactly the way the movie does it, unlike the lace only one nike has made.

In the movie, the strap tightens! then the laces! seems like nike cannot even do what a person did at home! lol!

The shoes that this person made utilize a completely different design, and the "trick" for lacing the ankle is in the x-cross that they used. Not comparable to the Nike shoe at all, you would not be able to use that method with the way the strap is designed on the Mags.

What we are disappointed about is they kept it all under wraps, not even giving us a heads up to save for 4 years. They promised no other release. Sure, people will have speculation, but do they have 50k to drop once the shoe becomes available? The shoe is slated for spring 2016, and will most likely sell out in 37 seconds, or it will be auction for the super rich and never for fans all around the world. This is why we are pissed
 
I would not even buy them if I had the money they are just half upgraded shoes to grab millions for a good cause of course but it's time to think about normal fans. To me bttf is not an elitist movie and they are just ruining this picture in my mind.
 
I thought they said they had power laces coming out earlier in the year ? I heard that.
Mid they made them for everyone they wouldn't be able to raise the money for the MJF foundation so it's lose lose situation I guess .
 
So, I am very new here so please don't eat me alive, I have read through a lot of the pages and viewed a lot of the videos and I have no idea where to start with this. I have watched tutorials but how do I know how to wire it. I would love to do this and my HC's are on the way. Thank you to anyone that takes some time to help a complete newbie. PS I am in America for anyone that posts links to stores. Its really intimidating I will admit.

This feels great! Seriously. I'm so happy to be wrong. I wasn't skeptical because I didn't want these coming to market, I was skeptical because I DID want them to come to market. I've been a fan long enough to see basically EVERY company fail to deliver. From ICONS failing to deliver a Hoverboard to Mattel's shambles of a Hoverboard release to Pepsi screwing up the Pepsi Perfect launch yesterday and everything in between, companies have consistently dropped the ball on launches and I think it's great that Nike did this!

Will any of us actually be able to afford one? Probably not. Does it work like in the movie? No, it's slower and much noisier. But they did it and I have so much respect for that. So go ahead, say you told me so because nothing can bring me down right now.

...but if you're more invested in my being wrong than your enjoyment of this news, you're in this for the wrong reasons.

someone should quote all those posts calling people idiots for thinking the shoe would release and how impossible it is lol. but it does suck that it wont be available to basically any of us once again. Hopefully china makes a V3 for real
 
I think the thing that's disappointing is the high prices these will go for. I am glad that they are going to fund Parkinson's research. What would be great is if they made them available to everyone for say something like $450 and $50 of each sold was sent to the foundation. In addition maybe auction off 1500 pairs that are autographed or have something added that makes them significant.

I was sick a lot as a little kid, and I watched all three movies while home from school sick all the time and the entire time I was growing up. I've always wished that when 2015 came, the shoes would come too. When they released some in 2011, I thought this ones for the foundation, when they streamline production they will go retail in 2015.

For that reason yesterday was very disappointing.

Remember, when Marty and Doc head to 2015 they see that Marty lives in a rough area, and you get the idea that his struggles as an adult because if the bad decision he made as a teenager to race. They are not poverty, but also not well off.

They certainly wouldn't be buying their teen age son jr a five thousand dollar pair of shoes.

They got the 2015 announcement right if they wanted to follow the plot, but they really missed on the pricing.

Maybe the shoes cannot be manufactured at a cost that makes them affordable to everyone, but there is less technology in the shoes than there is in an iPhone and you can buy one of those for eight hundred dollars.

I honestly felt a little heart broken at the end of the day yesterday. I had always looked forward to 2015 hoping that I would be wearing a pair of Air Mags.

But don't you remember that back in 2011 they raised almost $10 million dollars and CURED PARKINSON'S DISEASE?....Oh wait. That $10 million didn't do didly-squat. Maybe THIS time it will...oh wait, it won't...

After this next auction, very few people will have these shoes and Parkinson's Disease will not have a cure. Thanks Nike for nothing, you screwed us again.

I personally will never buy another pair of Nike's again. I hope that at least a couple thousand people will do the same. This way, all the future profits they would've got for us would erase the amount they are raising for the cure.
