I think the theory to adding paint to shoe goo is because the midsoles yellow over time and when you replace the soles, you can repaint under them. To avoid having a layer of paint and then the shoe goo only sticking to that instead of the rubber, mix the two and stick the new clear sole on with that. Would that be the right idea?

DragonGalvy that is correct. Also the screen used shoes had white mid-soles with grey fleck painted over the tip. There are a few scenes where you can see the underside if the shoe and it white. These and the RD are both grey under the soles, but the idea of putting a lighter shade under the soles also helps recreate that look closer to the movie shoe. You could use white if you were going to lighten the soles later.

They look sensational Robert. Are you planning on opening a business on this? Your work is very good.

Last week I volunteered to do the scaleable pattern for the EL and LEDs based on a PDF pattern by another member. So here it is.

His original work at 100% in the PDF

I made a small change here by reversing the two humps as the original had the taller one at the front.
And my work in SU (so we can scale this to any size) and screen captured as a JPEG.

I have not shared this yet, but can if that is the wish of the forum. At the size it is now, this would probably be for a size US13. I can scale and post JPEGs of all sizes if I know what they need to be. Either way, let me know.

PS, I have just removed the lines between the EL.
cavx do you have this for a size 9.5 ?

It looks like I have to re-draw this all over again because 252mm is NOT RIGHT!

I have not done a scaled version yet. That graphic was for the pair I was working on which are US13, not US9.5. Print it about 90% and see how it looks because at 100%, the front arc is too large and you would have no space to glue the sole back down.

What I found was the smaller shoes not only need smaller arches, they also need a greater space in between front and back parts.

Ok please let me know when you have a scaled version for a 9.5 .....trying to figure out how to print this out at 90% doesnt seem to be working

Open in Window Paint and you select and custom scale on the fly. Even if you have to save the bitmap as new file or over write the original. From there you should be right to orint as you are now printing 100%.

I won't be able to look at this for a few hours.

Back from convention.

The HC's with MP's decal kit and a reflective strap sleeve that cavx gave me the idea for, where a huge hit. Some people thought they were real Mags. Some people didn't even make the BTTF connection and just liked the fact that they were light-up shoes in adult sizes. Not a single negative comment or criticism.

Once again, Thank you everyone.

MrSouthpaw some people have either forgot or didn't even know that the year of the future sequence is 2015.

Vormz that is a nice clean conversion. Well done. Hopefully I will get either a pair of the US8 soles sent to be or least a really good image taken with a rule and I make up some outriggers in this size.

Vormz's template looks good. Mine looks like it needs to be turned around. I think connect at the bottom is best.

Ok so just to be clear...the first picture you think would be best ? The EL and connector both going horizontal ? Or did you mean the 2nd picture ?
