Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Well I don't know why I wore a nappy tonight, the toe slim once you get into it is actually not that bad!

I think it's ok for my first attempt, no glue stains and a big improvement from before, any feedback is appreciated!!

One thing though.. It's quite exhausting on the old finger tips, brad I don't know how you have any feeling left in your fingers lol!

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Good job Taff. It is very tough on the fingers.

WOW THANKS! For you to tell me that I am now very happy with myself as you are the master of the toe mod!!

At first I was in doubt if it was snug enough but as you probably noticed when playing about with the toe shape not glued down their is only so much you can do before it looks weird, I followed your curvature as its so good for this shoe :)

Thank you again for all the advice and epic tutorial !

These seem like very simple mods brad, NO? What would you say the toughest task are with these?

Also i got your pm and my mags are stored away for the moment at my in laws :cry I don't go there too much due to all the work I'm doing in the new house. If you need specific measurments I'll find time to stop there for you if need be.

That could use a little more slimming. Unless it would interfere too much with the comfort of the shoe.

No problem Mike, whenever you get time. No Biggie.

I think toughest task with the toe mod is that the fabric doesn't stretch and that you can easily have a wierd fold or kink in the toe area if you don't do it correctly. I learned SO much doing just one of my shoes that it only took me 30 minutes to do the second shoe and it came out looking amazing.

I agree with Mitas that Taff's could be slimmed EVER so slightly but I don't think it would make a HUGE difference.

Hey taff, you think that el panel is enough for 2 shoes, logo and sides?

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Hi Nik, no you will need two of these but trust me they work out cheaper than buying a A4 panel at £50-£60.. If u can find a cheaper A4 panel than that let me know!

FYI - I buy three of these panels that way if anything goes wrong I have spare, as ordering these panels from the above link I posted take 2-3 weeks to arrive but the colour is amazing just remember when cutting the shape for sole and strap el hold it over a radiator or hair dryer lightly to warm it up, super easy to cut that way

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Thank so much, also is that your preferred color?

Yep it's aqua like this

But in some photos it looks blue, EL panels are weird when it comes to getting a photo, as it can look green, aqua or blue.

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Anytime mate, that's why I made this thread :)

Is there anything else we need to purchase apart from that?

So to do the el strap we basically get an el panel and cut it down to size, which battery do we use? what switch do we buy? It can't be connected to the main switch right? I don't mind it being isolated from the rest of the electrics inside.

Also I'm assuming we cut with an exacto knife and remove the nike logo completely.

How do we create those nike logos?

I took a screenshot from Jedifyfe's youtube video on the V1 mags.

On the paper it says avery 5164, so I'd assume we just print the logo onto that using an inkjet printer but I want to make sure.

I used a laser printer to print mine. I am not certain that an inkjet can the the black part clean enough or thick enough so that the EL doesn't shine through.

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

jedifyfe your upgrades are fantastic!

I have another week or so to save up and then I'll be snagging a pair, hopefully I can get them to look as nice as yours
