Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Thanks Cavx. I don't think I'll be doing the finger loop mod anytime soon, if at all. It's not a glaring detail that shouts FAKE. The toe mod and EL sheets are the biggest issues.

fantastic mods
heres a quick comparison

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Scary how close they look to the real thing, IMO that toe fix is what does it all, I gotta get on this tonight!

That's what I have been saying since the beginning. It changes the entire look of the shoe. It takes it from looking like a work boot to looking sleek and streamlined, like the real MAGs.

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

The last "known" issue is now the lace area. If you take notice of different RD pix you notice that the eva around the lace area is curved in slightly thus making the bulk of the lace area more contour.

Yeah, I think there are some things that are just not feasible to try to alter. Personally, I will not be doing any alterations to the laces or the lace lines.

Only till all the mods have now been done do I finally see it, I always knew it was work bootish I just thought with all the other mods going on it would compensate, truth is... It doesn't lol.

Just home from work, lets get cracking :D

:thumbsup thanks.

I think the only reason they look as good as they do, is because I probably worked through the mod in my head so many times and so detailed over the last couple months that when I started on these, I already had them done in my head. Lol

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Brad is there a toe cap in there like the MP Mags :confused

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

I gotta say, seeing the pics of Brad's and Taff's mods has almost made me pull the trigger on ordering 2 pairs of these. Like Pitbull, I'm trying to maintain just a bit more patience though and see what happens with the next batch. Only thing is I totally agree with Brad that even if they are cheaper, and even if they add an EL strap, those will most likely be the only changes. They'll probably keep the sole LEDs, and the old boot-toe.

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Also in my opinion they will use LEDs for the nike light up strap (even without all the info I gave them)

Thing is can you really see them putting in a inverter? I highly doubt it and that's what made me get a pair :)

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Well, no matter what the next batch looks like, I know already I'll have to roll up my sleeves and make changes to them. With some tutorials from you guys, I'm not afraid. (doing the toe is most likely the scariest)

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Ye modding is inevitable :(

I know what you mean, as I have never really done this before to a pair of shoes I care about it is daunting, but confidence is key and to not rush, take each step as it comes and do the best you can do, you then know you gave it your all. Just watch brads tutorial a few times and have the technique rehearsed in your head.

Were worried... Imagine what Brad was feeling like doing this the first ever time not knowing how it would turn out, but imagine the feeling when pulling it off :)

Lol. Thanks Taff. It's just like you think. I was nervous for sure but I felt I had to try.

When I do the next toe slim on my next pair, I'll make a video. It may be a while though.

BTW, there is no toe cap.

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

No toe cap, thanks! It just feels like it does so has to ask :p

I defused the lights I think to the correct amount :confused

Can do more coates if its not enough but they light up a lot better than before and not just that everyone who has mags should do this, as you mentioned brad the bubbles have a oily finish to them, thanks for your advice on that btw, was a awesome idea and even my bird said they look better than before and she hasn't got a scooby doo.

Right back to the toe slim, I am using a new method as I wasn't getting very far with prying it apart, so started doing as you said a few posts back and use more of a blunt knife/piece of metal.

Currently using the back part of the blade of a xacto knife wrapped in Sellotape and a hair dryer. Will post pics when one/both done or I admit defend and buy a new pair :confused

Lets hope for success! :D

GOod lord, resize those pics....LOL!

I can't even tell what they are, they're so large.

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Haha!

Sorry my bad.. I just found out how to just link photos without attaching them as thumbnails, problem is iPhone 5 takes photos that size full resolution and I'm never on my pc I just use my phone to do all my rpf'ing :D

Here is a photo of the Matt finish I used.

Yeah I'm only holding off in case they fix that toe shape and price but other than that I'm jut being patient

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

So I am a bit late to the party here so apologies for any repeat questions.

These v2 mags that are on Ali express, what else is technically needed to make them "better" as I shall put it??

I notice everyone talking about the EL lights, where are they from?
