NIKE MAG Knockoffs

Yeah...the picture shows that. It's not like they could have faked that with CGI in '89. What you see is generally what you get with movies of that era.

man thats suckkkks .. i figured as much i remeber him dodgeing biff and the other 3 by jumping into the water

Hey guys, aside from the obvious(when Marty first puts the shoes on) has anybody ever seen the 89 mags lit up? I'm curious as to whether the led's and el glows pretty good

You can also see [though not as well] them lit up in the Cafe 80's. Both Marty's and Marty Jr's have lit EL.
come on guys... cafe 80's is for a half second and they're not very lit, hilldale is the other obvious one but you cant really see the l.e.d.

I guess I should rephrase the question, do we have any photos (not parts of the movie) that we see the shoes lit up? Thats something that isn't discussed very much, how well the lights match up to the 89' replicas

my mobile sucks n wont let me copy links or anything, but google "screen used nike mag" theres a pic of one lit up

Not to derail the thread, but I was in the supermarket just now and saw these water bottles on the shelves. These are just regular, disposable water bottles. Getting closer.......

What brand is it? And you can get quite a little sum of money if you converted those to Pepsi Perfect bottles and sell them. Just paint it and add the logo and bam.

Well, the dimensions are really quite a bit off. It's really reminiscent of the Pepsi bottles from the movies but would drive accuracy nuts crazy.

The fact that they're proper disposable plastic bottles does add a little charm too them though. I'll probably buy a couple, spray paint those bottle caps and slap on some stickers just to have something with cosplay potential.

And yes, they're Fene.

Do they have the little pop up straw?

I havn't actually bought one yet but I doubt it.
Really? I would have just for the shape of the bottle. It would be cool if it has that little pop up thing the Pepsi Perfect bottle has in the film (you see the daughter drinking from it at the dinner table when they eat the pizza).

I'll probably pick one up but the place is not on my regular path so i'll most likely grab one next week.
Cool.

I found a coffee jar very similar in shape and should have bought it right then and there because when I went back, they were sold out (BTTF fans?) and I have not seen them since.

I could be onto a winner here :)

A few pages back I was talking about experimenting with a vinyl mesh that I could source. This stuff is strong and comes in a variety of shades of grey (from white to black) and I said I would have to do a stitch test to see how this stuff goes.

So tonight after cutting myself out a set of uppers, I began to stitch one together.

Well test results are in and the are as follows:

PROS:

1. Can be cut and does NOT fray :)
2. Tough and does not rip :) I pulled the fabric hard tonight expecting the seam to rip and no such thing happened :)
3. Can be stitched with ease :)
4. Comes in a variety of colours including a light to medium grey :)
5. Mesh and it seems to breath or at least not hold the heat like traditional vinyls and PVCs :)
6. As it is Vinyl, it is not affected by water and easily cleaned :)
7. Light as well well as strong :)

CONS:

1. Does not stretch, so might be difficult to do a double layered part :unsure Having said that, I was able to reverse my seam with no problem.

So next will be an abrasion resistance test. I'll give a piece to my kid and tell him to go hard with it and see how it holds up. If by the end of the day is still OK, I'll pass it :). From my previous experiences with this stuff, I'd say it will pass with no issues. It is also supposed to be flame retardant, but I want to see that before believing that claim.
