Sneaker Freaker Magazine does anyone know the story about these? the guy supposedly paid $4000 dollars for them! is it just me or do they look awful? lol

But they were made by an orthopedic shoe maker just for his feet! Which will come in handy the three times he wears them outside of the house. And yes, for $4,000 they look miserable.
I also just noticed that the back heel parts of the sole just below the heel cup on the 2011s are thinner than the 1989s.
I know this is out of the blue, but where is Jedifyfe? He hasn't posted in a while.
He posted in this thread 19 hours ago. That's hardly a long time.

Hope those tweaks are worth the wait.
They could....
Lower the toe
Lighten the grey of the sole
Add EL
Remove stitching from finger pull openings
I'd be suprised if we get anything other than what we've seen.

I don't know if this will help anyone out but here are my photos of what I believe to be the Screen-Used Nike MAGs from the 2011 MAG Event in Hollywood. I tried to get as much detail as possible as it was displayed behind glass.
Also, here are the rest of my photos from that event:

It was almost funny reading that article with the guy that had the $4000 dollar shoes made because in the early 1990s I also hacked up a pair of $180 pair NIKE high tops in the hope of modding them to look like the MAG. The result? Epic fail!
At the time there was an old guy who was a shoe/boot maker who would charge $500+ for a custom set of shoes and at the time, $500 was like crazy money for a pair of shoes. Of course now, I'd jump at the chance given I've spent more than that on my scratch building of these shoes.
Those original screen used shoes are in pretty good condition given their age and what they would have been exposed to during the shoot.

Yeah...the picture shows that. It's not like they could have faked that with CGI in '89. What you see is generally what you get with movies of that era.
